Its possibly the clutch thrust bearing or the clutch drive shaft to g/box may be a bit dry, get it looked at when in for service.
Yes I seem to have the same problem. I don't seem to notice it until the engine has been running a little while. But it is very annoying, I am going to take it back to be looked at when I get a chance.

i spoke to soon, i do have this noise, not with the clutch tho, just accellerator small blips and you get the drone, great, already had my DPF sensor done, drivers locking done, awaiting passenger locking, dash rattle, and now a drone when crawling....fantastic, i got this car on the strength of my old leon, what a mistake!

the drone is actually the turbo soleniod which is mounted on the bulk head and needs replacing because it gets worse ive already had two fitted to my car and im just waiting for it to go again as the technicians cant explain why its doing it!
is that tru of just accellerator pedal bliping? ours seems to happen with car in neutral and no foot on clutch

mach 4, I am glad you mentioned it! my hubby drove my FR last week when taking me into work. Again whilst in slow, stop and go traffic my hubby noticed too the drone you mentioned. My hubby described it more of a single drum boom sound every time he depressed the clutch pedal
. Strange one. Anyhow this issue is being added to my list of concerns that are due to be addressed by my Seat Dealer.Tracy

YES THE NOISE DOES HAPPEN MORE IF YOU BLIP THE THROTTLE IF YOU POP THE BONNET THE SOLENOID IS FIXED TO THE BULK HEAD AND IF YOU GET SOMEONE TO BLIP IT WHILE HOLDING IT YOU CAN FEEL IT VIBRATING BUT AS I SAID IT DOES EVENTUALLY GET WORSE AND MINE SEEMED TO AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE

my hubby went on a test drive with a senior technician when my car went in to my Seat Dealer last week, and guess what?..........................
Turbo vacum solenoid is shot
, Steering rack has got to be replaced
, Headlight to be replaced due to excessive water ingress
and finally both front and rear bumpers will have to be re painted due to defective colour matching and "mottled" paint application/finish
But..........................................
My hubby basically gave em an ultimatum, having covered only 1,500 miles its either a REPLACEMENT OR REJECTION
My Seat dealer chose the Replacement
So new "07" FR on its way. This time I have chosen, Convenience pack and Bluetooth in addition to the 18" alloys as per my Luna Grey FR.
And in an attempt to at least eliminate one potential problem, and that being dodgy painted bumpers I have moved over from Luna Grey to Black Magic.
So overall happy with the result

Black magic like mine may be a better choice, but make sure that the overall finish is good - mine came with a slight dimpled optical effect, not mirror finish.
BTW what symptoms was the steering rack giving, before they determined replacement was needed?

Steering rack was creaking when reversing or moving slowly and turning the steering wheel lock to lock. The creaking noise is barely audible inside the car but when you stand outside the car, like my hubby did when he noticed it, I was reversing my FR onto the drive about a month ago. .Apparently there is information available to the Seat dealer network which indicates the relevant Vin No's of vehicles affected.
Basically its up to the customer to highlight the problem as Seat will not inform you otherwise as its not considered a safety issue.

Yes, it does get a lot worse, I noticed it after the car had only done 6 miles. Its now done 8200 miles and its terrible, but im holding off until its 10k service.
If I now start the car up and rev the engine upto 3000 then let the revs return to normal, it goes MERRRRRRRRRRR all the way down to 1000rpm.
Also it does it sometimes when holding the throttle just below 2000rpm going up a slight incline. Its even started buzzing sometimes like a vibration in the dash. I wonder how much worse it can get?
