New Cupra Test

When I described the Focus ST as dull and Volvo like, i also thought it was a very well engineered car, perhaps too much in that the ride was too good and power delivery too linear. In all honesty aside from some additional cornering ability it felt just like our family car a Saab 95 Aero (An inert driving experience) fast but not exiting.
My point is i Hope the new Leon Cupra has not become too 'grown up' otherwise i suspect I will be hanging on to my existing LCR for a while longer.

The more I read, the more I know this car will be just as celebrated as the Cupra R - sod the Golf, stuff the Ford, this is a great car!

For those that say it looks too similar to the FR, I wouldn't say the MK1 FR was too different to the Cupra R?

When you think of the possibilities available for tweeking the performance compared to the price of the standard GTI, ST and S3, it's a bloomin bargain!

I have now seen the car up close and had the privilege to drive it.
For those of you who have issues with the look of the car , Seat are looking into offering a body kit option similar to the Seat Copa track car as well as the body kit from 2006.
Options are now available and they can be ordered.
Brembo brakes will be replaced with near identical SEAT SPORT calipers until Brembo and Seat Sport are happy with the performance.
Disc and Calipers are HUGE!!!!
Seats are awesome. Very snug and still room in the back.
Fantastic excelleration on the straight and grips like poo on a bog roll in the corners.
I will have one for January 2007.

Yeah, where do you get the information regarding these body kits? I want a new body kit when my Cupra arrives in 10 weeks or so. I'm not 100% happy with any body kits on the market at the moment.

Sorry just read through this thread and people are saying the ST is cheaper than the Cupra....the 5 door ST2 (similar spec to the Cupra) is also £19600 so the same price.

Hey up, good to see that I'm not the only dude in the new Leon FR
I was thinkin of doing somthing with mine, nothing too major, just somthing to make it my own. It's already got 18's and the look wicked because I got the car in dark silver which kinda goes with the wheels.
Have you got any ideas where I could get a badgeless grille???

Just spoke to my Seat Dealer they have just go their Cupra in for next thursdays launch

Yep, had a look round one - looks like they all got them this today.

yeah been and had a look, looks nothing special at all, inside is nice but put it next to the tdi sport and the TDI looks fantastic.

I wont be buying one. not unless they change it and give it a mean look
