Problem

Think Clutch might be on the way out not too sure. car has 51k miles on, and first gear seems to be slipping not really sure though as never had this problem before. Anyway it doesnt like going into first u sometimes have to put it in twice as it doesnt engage properly. Also it likes to come out when I stop at lights and no I dont take it out of gear I mean the gear knob stays in same place but I need to either push it back in like disengage engage or push it more to get it to work. Im seriously not having good luck with this car lol anyway any ideas?

Do the engine revs rise with-out the speed of the car rising?

the esiest way to see this is to go down a straight road at about 30 in fourth gear and plant the loud pedal if the revs rise and the speed doesn't your clutch has had it.

As for the throwing you out of gear, I've never had that problem, sure someone will know though!

my rover 25 used to throw out of gear it was the gear linkage that was the problem! it doesnt sound like clutch problem!

but saying that a couple of months later i needed a new gearbox

ikt wont be clutch on a 1.2 will be gear leaver mechanism or cables going to the gearbox. my bet is the levers on the top of the gear box

ahn right chears lads its not bothering me too much just look like a bit of a tit trying to pull away and having to go o shi* its not in gear...wait it is hmmm lol

My 1.2 did that...from time to time it just did not want to go in to 1st...never had it pop out though. Does sound like a linkage prob though
