Hey Guys quick new post as the last new became a general rockingham post.

Thinking of a convoy from the services on the A14

the services im proposing is the services on the a14 just after the A6 junction!

You can see it on multimap (services **** marked on maps as the a14 **** a motorway)

http://www.multimap.com/map/photo.cg...multimap.y=161

You cant in a word miss it thinking if anyones up for it meeting at 8.00 for a 8.20 set off to Rockingham time for a brekki at the mc d's there and so well needed super unleaded from the esso garage.

Post your names here if you fancy it and ill wack you down thinking this is on nearly everyones way and sitting in the ques will be a lot more banter in a convoy than sitting in it on your own!

Put me down for that, I'll be heading from Brum, along the M6. :)

I will be in a local hotel in Cottingham Sat night so will join you all on route near the track. What time do you expect to be in the area of Rockingham? I notice on the tickets it says the gates open at 9am.

Is there anywhere the two convoys can meet near the circuit that wont cause too much disruption. Its looking like we will be arriving around the same time.

Don't mind. As I have never been to Rockingham before and I don't know which route you lot will be on near to the track, you tell me and I will be there. As I say, I am not too far away in Cottingham so it's only a ten minute drive to the circuit - but I don't know how the traffic will affect the timings.

I'll be there also.

Will you be going down the M6 and then onto the A14?

Yeah, might see you along the way, I drive a 1.4, so will be taking it easy

I did notice that the track only opens at 9am, doubt we want to be too early and expose ourself to more queues that nessecary

A14 and then A6003 all the way i believ there is on the A6003 a petrol station we could meet in the forcourt of it (anyone know its true location????)

There seems to be a large petrol station at the roundabout where the A427 crosses the A6003 just NW of Corby is that the one you're thinking of?

see http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?/ms? and zoom in to Corby and select hybrid option for best view.

Looks like a good place for North and South convoys to meet, then choose which road to wiggle through to the circuit either A427 through the middle or continue round the A6003 and northern ring road.

If you agree nominate a time for anyone interetsed to RV there.

Im sure that will be fine by us, we aim to leave Donnington Services at 8.00am, stopping very briefly at Leicester Forrest services. Not sure on distance, but at a guess would be right in thinking we would arrive at 8.45 ish?

Meeting point

The roundabout at the junction of the A427 and A6003 does indeed look like the best place to meet, and merge the two or three convoys.

Should be quite impressive so see you all on Sunday morning!

Neil > If you upload your photos to a site such as photobox then you can insert the direct URL link in your post which will show the image. I have put a few rockingham photos on this thread : http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1357033
