i agree with phil , take it to westec , see what it is getting on the rollers , if its getting 240 - 250 , which i cant see on a standard k03 map , dont bother getting it mapped , if its getting 220 or so , get jabba to map it and see what you think , whats the point in wasting 1000 + on an extra 10 - 20 bhp if u r happy with the map that jabba do

thats right mate

you wont be happy if you get a k03s hybrid anyway , you will just keep wanting more and more power , its a never ending road , you loved the car when you first got the k03s on it , and now you think its slow :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I have a LCR, turbo dynamics will charge me 425 plus VAT for a new core in my current turbo frame (new compressor and turbine etc) which they rate at 320-330 bhp. My point is they can probably do a similar job (smaller internals) for the same price for a ko3/s. guaranteed for a year. No need to spend a grand. Pay one of the guys on here £100 or so to fit it and its job done. (Maybe injectors or reg)

have u got a k04 , 320 - 330 bhp , that seems a hell of a lot out of a k04 , jbs got 300 out of a hybrid k04 with there equal length manifod , ihi gets those sort of figures

Standard LCR tubby is a k04-023, with a max output of 280bhp. If the internals are rebuilt with larger compressor wheel and turbine etc i don't think an extra 40 bhp is unthinkable. Give them a ring.

i dont think so

Yep another positive statement. Maybe your right and they won't flow more than stock:shrug:. Considering they manufacture the turbo's for the Cupra racing team i would assume that they know maybe a little more about turbocharging and building them than you.
PM me your email and i'll send you the manufactures pdf on this hybrid spec.

Check the post in turbo tuning by gazjones. Lots of info and some american companies that have k03s hybrids which work out under £500. Also speak to TTS Roadsport as I was on the phone to them the other day and they mentioned a k03 hybrid that they did that put out over 260bhp and I think it was £1k fitted but cant remember for sure.

The car is making requested boost across the rpm range so there is a "little" more left in it perhaps. But not a lot, and you have to ask do I want to run it at 100%?

No more timing to be had, as 6Cf's are logged.

Induction temps of 40'C on a 26'c ambient temp day on laguna fmic. No idea as to pressure loss across the core however.

It goes well mind you... 185g/s logged from memory

i know you ran at westec before, but i personally would consider getting a 2nd RR done elsewhere if you dont reach the figures you want at westec this time..

iirc no k03s ibiza has actually reached 250s on westecs rollers
its usually 230s

and based on what bill is saying from your logs, its unlikely you'll feel a great difference after spanking out £500 odd

go eliminator...you know it makes sense

and exactly what your saying is the reason why i've never gone k03s

its just not a big enough jump, it might only be a few hundred quid but imo its not worth that and if im gonna go to the trouble of swapping the turbo, then i want a big jump.

I would guess the re-run @ Westec would be a comparison to before K03s and DP/zorst etc as an estimated gain from there..

you cant compare those figures to claimed 250bhp figures from elsewhere however, as its dyno lottery and happy dyno's that produce those numbers.

For £475+vat for a 'custom' remap to get that much more out of it, you have to question is it worth it..... bang for buck

What was suggested to Steve, was to say to JS to do a before run and guage if there was likely to be a meaningful gain "after" the remap

By phone tho, they have apparently said the likes of dont drive it, it will blow up etc, which the logs do not show.

I have reservations on the ross-tech a/f calc however as it does not correlate on a car which runs wideband (jans lupo) at all... completely different numbers when using the calculator.... so I would be wary of trusting it based on that alone. Maybe drop in a 4bar fpr just in case and review things on wideband.
