Hmm, when I turn it it seems to move something up and down the back, though i assume its supposed to make the lower back firmer or softer depending on how you like your seating position.

Madness. Manuals are more important than they have ever been. These cars come with so much technology, you wouldnt know anything about half of it if you wernt told. Ie; different types of locking on the key fob, cruise control, radio options, bluetooth, climate control functions.
i have had a quick browse over it and the only thing i have had to use it for was with the blue tooth. everything else i just learned from fiddling with. I always been like that, probably because im young i guess

Nothing to do with youth, my dads hopeless, everytime I see him I get his manual out his glove compartment and tell him something new about his car- he has had it 4yrs now.
Manuals are essential,
when I got the leon the dealer told me about the boot button on the remote key.
He said you press the lock button twice, then the boot button simultaneously with the unlock button - what he was doing was de-activating the alarm then opening all the doors which I discovered after reading the manual - Yes my car had been sitting on the street with no alarm.
