Hi ,

as my previous thread I have just bought my wife a LCR 225 and have been told that there is a problem with the steering wheel and gear knob wearing showing red paint beneath is this true and are they easy enough to replace and at what cost?

Please no shouting at me if this has been asked several times I don't know how to search the threads

Not heard this befor on the 225 mate althought the 210 LCR pre 03 has wear probs on gear nob.

Not cheep to replace the wheel but the nobs cheep to replce in comparison.

as said, if it is true, steering wheel could be fairly expensive but then gear nob a lot cheaper in comparisom.

Usually LCR bits on e-bay if you need them rather than paying full whack from a dealer.

I was told that EVO mag had the same problem with a long term test model they had have just checked it out and it was only the gear knob so I will wait and see thanks any way

I think if you drive a lot with your hand on the gear nob, the wedding ring rubs the paint off. Mine had a new one fitted just before it ran out of warente (spp). Not heard a peep about the steering wheel thou.

Yeah - mine is a 55 LCR and there is wearing on both the gear knob and steering wheel. Going to the dealers tomorrow and going to ask about these to see if possible to replace under warranty. Will let you know tomorrow what the outcome is.

My steering wheel is the worst with the red peeping through.
