I know its a cheap mod, like about £550 cheaper than the Forge kit BUT

when i had the laguna FMIC on my Ibiza and went to get it remapped, the part that was holding the power back was the FMIC and it did become very restrictive on a stage 3 tune (k03s, FMIC, TB exhaust etc)

so when comparing this to my mates, but he had the Forge FMIC in place, there was a noticeable difference in power and peak power

so i ditched the Laguna FMIC, and went down the Forge route. Instantly, and I mean booting it out of the Forge workshop, it was boosting more PSI and holding for a lot longer

you get what you pay for, and after having direct experience of the laguna FMIC, its just not worth going cheap on products like this as you jsut dont get the most out of the car

question to ask yourself is - Why spend lots of money getting it professionally remapped, turbo back exhaust, induction kit etc etc, only then to scrimp on one of the most important parts to unleashing a key amount of power and buying a cheap FMIC:confused::blink:???

or you could look at it as....you dont want to go as far as you, want to stay with the standard k03 and just get a remap? then its perfect!

but i agree if your doing the full shabang then you have to get the proper stuff but im not !

very true

should have mentioned that

The laguna fmic is good for a power around 200-210 i.e. stg1 and just running a remap and panel filter, but anything more i.e. stg2+, then the laguna cannot cope

they are very thin and the end tanks are quite small, therefore after a certian amount of power they become more of a hinderance than an advantage

but yes, in response to your point Dave, they are good for a reasonably standard state of tune

I havent had the forge one on mine so dont directly know how that one performs, but my laguna one works great with my k03s and turbo back, centralised looks great too.
I think flashbsd got his cupra mapped at jabba (before he sold it) and it had the laguna fmic and got just as good results, which basically was the maximum you could safely get out of the k03s anyway, higher power k04 + could be restrictive but until someone does it who knows, the forge one maxxes at 320ish which is prob a lot more though.
For K03 and K03s its a great mod, never once regretted it.

everyone has different experiences, and of course the pipework or way their setup for their laguna FMIC can be different, as its not a generic factory made kit so different people could have issues with them....perhaps I did:confused:

I just know mine was restrictive in the end and ditched it - the Forge kit enabled or certainly released a certian amount of power from the car and really did then let it fly

i thinks your full of crap mate! my o3s made nearly 240bhp on the laguna cooler who are you to say it ent any good!

Oh I know, each to their own and Im certainly not debating the quality of the forge one, all I know is mine works fine, think tbh it is to do with the pipework, when vagtech fitted mine they added an extra bit of alloy tubing as it would have been slightly kinked without it.

thanks Rob....I will see you at the next limp mode squad pub meet;):p

and who am I, from direct experience of having it on, and then fitting the Forge FMIC, it was considerably better

and as I already said Rob, maybe mine just was not fitted quite right and therefore I was not getting the best results out of it

bunch of copy cats grr ;) top job they did on yours mate!

Rob (turbo boy) was one of the first to do this

I followed with a close second, and from there everyone started doing them

Centralised?
I knew rob was the first to do it, flash and mike had theirs on before me too, but as far as I knew mine was the first one to be in the middle, or at least the first to promote it could be centralised as the wonkiness put a few people off doing it.
