Private Plate

Looking at purchasing my private plate soon - N30 MDR

Seeing as I own a black car, do you think it'd look cool having those classic black plates with silver text on it? are they legal? I've heard they are, but only on classic cars.

Also thinking if I have standard Yellow/White plates, I will at least change the text to 3D - My dad has it and never had problems. Was thinking of something on the side too, but anything other than national flag/EU is not allowed. But I will always carry some legale plates in boot

Do you think it'd look cheesy with a Simpsons cartoon at the side? (Would have Seat logo, but if I change car, then i'd need new plates making again )

Silver on black plates are not legal for the age of your car. Nor are the Simpsons characters and come to think of it, neither is the 3D effect.

And my opinion is... don't do it. It'll look crap.

My mate has a TT 225... with the silver on black plates looks pretty decent IMO, as for the cartoons on this side i think that would look cack!

Yeah, I've seen a few with Playboy etc and a few Taz ones and must admit they look poo!

You reckon? Suppose I could just have the N10 MDR (forget the massive spacing lol), then people wont know they're private plates unless they realise that Mk3 beezers dont come as N reg's

looks poo. i purposely avoided the ones that flash etc, because they look pants and not as good as the ads etc make out to be (unless of course youre on about my mates old car )

My ex has just bought her dad german plates for his beamer, because he liked her italian ones on her seicento!

was thinking of spanish plates, but cops are clamping down on "foreign" plates more than they are on the ones with custom letters

Sorry but dont like the simpsons idea and hate numberplates with gay fonts.. 3D is ok but you know what i mean

Also i really wouldnt have my name on my numberplate so that anyone can see!!!
