Just to keep you updated. I washed the car for the first time yesterday with the plates fitted and have noticed some issues with the black strip presumably due to water getting in. I've asked the supplier if this is an isolated issue to the sample I have been sent. My contact is on holiday until tomorrow so will let you know when I hear back.

Ideally the forum details on the plate want to be underneath the clear top layer - so it’s sealed in and there’s no way for it to wash/scratch off. If it’s a vinyl sticker there’s always going to be adhesion and/or water ingress eventually

That's what they've done. It's not a sticker. That's why the supplier is baffled how water appears to have got in there.

Any updates from the supplier re the water issues?

Also have they provided a price yet for the plates, only after the 2D ones, not 3D.

Thanks

Thanks for your patience. I'm chasing for an update, they were going to try some denser ink and get back to me. It doesn't appear to be water but a slight bend in the plate causing it as they recreated it their end with another sample plate. I'm waiting on final costing but I'm hoping under £40 with delivery for a pair of standard plates.

Still chasing the supplier on this. The first sample I had I have bent to within an inch of its life before snapping and no creases have appeared so I'm hoping it was just a batch issue with the final sample I was sent. Will keep you posted, I'm not giving up on these.

Hi all, just to keep you updated on this. Currently in discussion with a new supplier as the previous one has been ignoring my messages for weeks and weeks so I have given up on them which is a shame.

Just waiting on a sample from the new supplier, we are likely going back to the original design with an all black lip.

Options will include:

Basic printed plates
3D
4D
Side badge (GB)

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for your patience.

Scott

All, thanks for your patience, it really is appreciated. We are now ready to start taking pre-orders for the new plates with a new supplier. A slightly updated design (larger border, lip front and back - now solid black) and full details are now in the updated original post as well as pricing.

We need 25 committed pre-orders for each design before we can order a batch. Payment isn't taken until we hit 25, but please can you reconfirm your commitment to buy on this thread and the plates you would like as per the instructions in the updated original post.

Thanks!

Scott
