The question raised was is it possible? So i gave a few examples, thats all. I may have gone a little over the top and given a spec more associated with a drag car, but i believe my point to be valid

Your answer was far better detailed i grant you, i just design race engine components, not build complete performance engines, so my experience of what part to use in what application, other than our own products is limited.

Easy. Just wont be very drivable, or cheap. Decent cylinder head, tuned manifold, F-in big turbo, T66 (for example), Steel bottom end, Stand alone ECU (for total security, Motec for example) Large or 2 stage injectors (4 one size, 4 another), Big inlet manifold and plenum, decent cams (Piper 1086 spec for example )

if you had been around here and the VAG scene for 1.8t's long enough you would know what is and is'nt possible.... so generic blah blah is worthless.

search function yields a wealth of information as does the www on the 1.8t topic which is the original posters question.

you say not drivable.... based on your experience of bigger turbo 1.8t's???

c'mon man.... unless you have experience of this platform and engine for the sake of posting, why bother at all.

"decent cylinder head" - they already have one 20v
"f-in big turbo" - not that big req'd
"t66" - ??? lol
"standalone" - not req'd - map stock me7
"big inlet manifold" - helpfull >450bhp as is larger t'body otherwise adequate


and I have considerable experience on this very platform i fast road and race use in case you wondered.

its not 600bhp (yet) just a healthy 500

browse the badger5 section under race season write ups for its spec. 2006/7
buildable for customers too.. but its not inexpensive to do so
