Hi I own a leon sport tdi pd 140 bkd.
Asking this question for a friend.

He has a 58 plate altea same engine and is having problems with rear passenger door.

I've had the problem with the door locks sticking on mine and have drilled the hole in the mechanism and sprayed wd 40 In on 3 of my door locks worked perfectly.

The problem he has is that the child lock was activated and it seems like the mechanism has failed as drilling the mechanism an spraying wd 40 in doesn't work. But it can't be worked in as door will not open from outside due to mechanism being seized and door won't open from inside as child lock is activated has anyone had this problem?
Any help would be appreciated as This is the only reason he has given up on the car he has 2 children in the back and has to put them both in from the drivers side rear which is far from ideal on the school run.

Thanks in advance Joel

Hi mate. Sometimes hitting the outside of the door can restore the connection if it's an electrical issue causing it not to unlock. Try repeatedly hitting the area around the module as someone else is trying the lock/unlock button on the driver door panel. Other than that there is no easy way to open the door in that situation.

Not sure of the design of the Altea, sometimes removing the rear seat can allow you to get the door card off, if not only way is to cut it unfortunately. Then he'll have to cut the inner metal door panel too. After that likely you will have to smash the lock with a big chisel or something.
