Ports, Hants
had my mot on monday and wasnt expecting it to be too great but passed with a few silly advisories - nail in tyre (didnt know bout) stuff like that!

which hopefully means i can sort out the rear wing damage from where some kid on a moped tried undertaking me on a roundabout and missed :cartman:

what my failures?

both top mounts need tightening up
Rear passenger wheel bearing needs tightening
passenger drive shaft bolt needs tightening up
no car horn

and some advisories

My failures were:

Rear Suspension Strut (Drivers Side) was leaking
Something wrong with the handbrake, something about the brushes.

So im putting my standard suspension bak on and its staying on for good!! Cant be without my car until i get a new strut so the old kit is going on and staying on!!

my advisory was a nail in the tyre. can some put in layman's terms - o/side rear shock absorber has a light misting of oil. is it that there's a slight leak at the seal?

looking at gmax shock absorbers anyway, ive got the gmax springs already.

anyone know how much a standard set are, for reference?

my emissions were really good, he said he rarely sees emissions that low

new sports cat did the job :D

now for a decat when it's out of the garage

Hard to get good emissions when you got cams fitted.... my sports cat haven't done me good this year :(

Think I be selling it soon (sports cat that is).... or maybe a swap for a standard one plus a bit of money.

The gmax shocks are pretty reasonable. The Fixed Rate ones are £34.31 Inc VAT for a rear one. This is only for one tho. Not sure about the front ones.

Thats from Demon-Tweeks, try another few places first.

Dont know about the standard set.

After a small plate welded on the back of the sill just before the arch (costing 40 quid) it passed fine. Emissions only just made it through though! I was going to give it a good run and get the engine nice and warm before taking it to the MOT garage and put the standard air box back in first, but I didn't have time.

i have to change my exhausts back to standard to get it through emmissions :(
although its only failed an mot once with them on, i think it was more down to the fact that the car hadnt been used for 2 weeks prior to the test due to me being in scotland lol.
