MY 07 vs MY 08

Looks to me that the FR and Cupra will soon only be distinguishable inside by the Cupra badging and slightly different clocks. Outside there is not much difference either if the FR is wearing 18's.

I look for the silver mirrors to tell them apart.

There is more to the car than the outside and inside looks of it

Colour coded bit at the bottom of the FR front bumper, black plastic on the Cupra - although hard to tell the difference in black.

I've seen the my08 FR when i picked the cupra up, it hasn't got the nice seats!

in a perverse kinda way, YAY!

Mine didnt have them. The dealer said they wouldnt start coming out until later in the year.

And, more interestingly, if I ask a dealer that would they have any clue?????

Honest answer is I havent got a clue. Thats all the dealer said to me but then again he could have been fobbing me off. All I can say is that my uncle picked up his cupra on saturday and he had the black grill surround so obviously those changes have already taken effect. Perhaps mine had already been manufactured with the old seats? or the dealer was infact telling the truth. Best to ask them directly I recon.

take that with a pinch of salt latset EKTA does NOT show MY08 fr with new seats and niether does the uk MY08 brochure

I a not bothered which ones come with mine, its being built next week. They both have for`s and againsts. The new/cupra style ones look better and much better for me, but the older/current ones are more rear passenger/child friendly/. A couple of reasons for me, the plastic backs will show foot prints/scuffs/scratches from the kids, where cloth is harder wearing, easier to clean. Secondly my children watch there tv`s on long journeys, they will fit better to the standard headrests and I use the back rest pocket to stuff the mass of wires that are used for the tv`s which the cupra ones don`t have...........
