Just noticed that the lug has broken off the rear parcel shelf on our FR, its been like this since we bought it (but didnt realise it was broken), will this be covered under warranty?

Same thing happened on my 1.9 stylance about two months after I got it last year.
Only noticed after coming back off hols. Rang dealer (David Cook, Oldham) and explained I had only just noticed and they just ordered a complete new back parcel shelf. Only took a week to come in stock. No questions asked when I went to pick it up, just swopped them over. All very helpful people and no hassle being fixed under warranty.

Sigh, well finally got the parcel shelf in, but only as I rang them, and guess what they said, we wondered who this was for, just had the customers surname and nothing else even though even though I gave them the chassis number and reg plate, whats up with these idiot garages?
So the service man comes out to the car to swap it, guess what, its not only grey in colour (and ours is black) and it doesnt have the lugs to be able to secure the lower accessory tray to it.
So off he goes and calls seat, they say thats the only one they list for the car and they dont fit the lugs anymore as they always break off, well ours didnt
So basically I have not accepted it and tried to repair mine, but so far to no avail, if I take this one they have, it will mean its the wrong colour and we wont be able to use the accessory shelf, what a nightmare
Anyone else suffered this problem?, also I tried to get them to swap one out of an FR they had on the forcourt but they wouldnt...

just to make sure that we're both talking about the same parcel shelf:
basically there are 2 different layouts: with and w/o the locking knob.
Sorry, but no info about change of colors ... all the ones I've seen so far are of a darker grey ... the above dark/light nuances are caused by photoflash, I assume.

The partnos (picture documented in the linked thread) are:
with knob (MY2006, but not mandatory)
top shelf: ..................... 5P0 867 769 E 6E8 .... ~ 100 Euros
acc.shelf underneath: ... 5P0 867 134 C ......... ~ 50 Euros
w/o knob (MY2007, but not mandatory)
top shelf: ..................... 5P0 867 769 G 6E8
acc.shelf underneath: ... 5P0 867 134 F
Don't know if any of your dealers over in UK will be smart enough to order the correct replacement parts ... but be soothed, the SEAT-garages over here in Germany can be of a nuisance just the same.

Seat have superseeded that part number with the other G one as they dont supply them with the lugs anymore, I am anoyed
