hi all,

i want to change my rear bumper for a cupra r or cupra face lift bumper. are there any differances in these two bumpers??????????

i have a facelift front bumper on and skirts and can get hold of a cupra r bumper and wondered if this will go with the car,
i seemed to recall that one of these bumpers has a slight "flair" at the bottom of the bumper to co inside with the skirts and facelift front bumper which has a "flair" to it by the front wheels..guess thats why we need the wheel arch extentions...

which bumper has this. i'm thinking facelift bumper but could be wrong...

can i get away with fitting a cupra r bumper to my leon?

Also - can an FR rear bumper be fitted to a 2001 LC ?

The FR and the Cupra R bumpers are different. The exhaust opening is in a different place, so you might need to look at a different tail pipe in order to fit.

is the fr bumper the one with the "flare" at the sides,
and the cupra r is straight?
wanna make sure i get right one...like the one in my pic?

the cupra one is rounder. the R one more angular and possible protrudes further from the car. Much in the same way the front bumper on the R is more angular than the cupra.

as said the exhaust cut out is in slightly different place. if the get the R bumper a supersprint back box fits very nicely.

As I understand, you can fit a facelift rear bumper to a pre-facelift 20VT without having to alter / change the 20VT twin-tailpipe exhaust. You can't fit an 'R' rear bumper with the standard 20Vt exhaust in place.

The Facelift and FR bumpers are the same, whilst the R bumper differs as it has a black none colour coded section along the bottom, and the walls either side of the numberplate recess are angled downwards to copy the style of the lower front bumper grille. On the facelift the walls of the number plate recess are vertical. It does look completely different.

thanks... facelift/fr it is then..... dam shame though, could of got an R for about 65 quid... doh!!!!

any body got one knocking about in their garage????????
