hi guys,
noone has any performance upgrade tip for the 1,6 16v model?
besides the K&N airfilter, maybe an airbox mod, new sparks/wires?
someone has mentioned VW Polo Gti with 125 ps out of the same engine, is that true that it is the same?

Hi mate, I personally would recommend coilovers if your unsure, or air (but maybe not as a novice unless you've big money to spend, <--but i duno) but this way you can keep making it lower and lower untill you cant take no more, otherwise if you post a thread on the mk1 leon section on this forum then you will get a better response, you dont needa be specific to 1.6 owners here (unless ive really missed something)

Lowered 55mm front and 35mm back on eibach springs and uprated shocks.
K&N 57i Induction kit (due to be relocated due to much heat being sucked in.)
cat back stainless steal exhaust system with hidden tail pipe.
Xeon HID conversion.
Audi S3 lower strut brace
Top strut brace (cant remember manu name)
Tinted windows front and rear.
Brembo vented and grooved front disc
Brembo Vented Rear disc
Colour coded lower sections of front and rear bumpers
Bosh Aero front wiper blades
Skoda fabia rear wipe arm conversion
Matt black standard Leon 15" wheels.

the vw polo gti put out more because they have bigger throttle bodies than the leon 1.6, it something I have consider but not research much into to yet.
Cheers, the brake disc are brembo max, don't have the brembo calipers as can't fit them with the standard wheels. Look into chips but price versus bhp gain is rubbish.
I was quoted 10% bhp gain and about the same in torque with a chip.

Can anyone recommend some good all season tyres for my 2002 1.6S. Currently got Goodyear Hydragrips 195-65-R15V. However will need changing soon.

check the Goodyear Vector 4Season or the Vredestein Quatrac 3, both scored well in the latest german ADAC test.

ive just bought a bog standard leon, red 1.6 and basically wanna mod it to a similar spec to yours, if you dont mind me asking wheres the best place to get the bits from? and im guessing its quite pricey, looks spot on though.
