nickbarnes....when you say a normal k04 flows to around 280 so a hybrid should see more, dont forget these are k03's that are a hybrid with a k04 (e.g trying to be a k04)...not a k04 hybrid (optimised k04)
 
Very valid point there hooch, this conversion will be on its limits at 300bhp i would imagine. I would like to heatwrap my mani, think its worth it for a couple of quid. Its the fitting of the turbo and mani that are expensive labour wise, tbh i would consider doing it my self i know its ment to be a pig but the money save would pay for my injectors and fuel pump
 
316 is a higher grade of stainless steel then 304, but oddly 304 is a better choice 4 exhaust manifolds and systems, as the properties of the steel suit the demands of an exhaust system better than 316.
 
very true bill and defo at a price. i have had some experience with titanium but not yet on an exhaust, but this stuff is the mut's nut's it's strong, light, has very good heat capabilities but it's notoriously hard to work with and very very expensive. i've also used small amount's of duplex and super duplex, but only for short periods of time, but from what i've seen it works well to, but again it's down 2 price, but i may consider using it for some components when i do my BT conversion.
 
To have it ceramic coated would be great it would also be very expensive, i think i read somewhere that bill was having a manifold coated to the tune of £200. I cant imagine me gaining any thing from it either

as Primary Designs advised for mine.. as did they advise inconel at twice the cost :hide:

£250 was my cost for Zircotec ceramic coating.. but the gain is heat reduction in engine bay and heat inclusion inside the manifold/downpipe for more performance.

everythings expensive when you dont have the money for it.. as I know all too well. killed my money tree a couple years ago. :cry: :cry:
 
It came it came, my forge FMIC arrived today, got in from work opened it up straight away and was totally blown away buy the build quality of it all, its fantastic. Well thats me busy this weekend cant wait, has anyone got any tips that could make it a bit better to fit?
 
Just follow the instructions they give you...its that simple to fit alsong as you got all the correct tools, i had a mate with me to give me a hand holding things in place ect.... Oh and the bumper trim is a rate pain in the arse to get off!
 
Well guys i got my fmic fitted on sunday. Me and my mate managed to fit the intercooler and the lcr splitter in about 5 hours in the crappy weather which i didnt think was bad going tbh. I fits like a dream and looks great, i also managed to get it in without trimming the bumper which i wasnt keen on doing. I will try and get some pics up tomorrow.
 
Well my BAM injectors came today, cheers nickbarnes. Looks like its coming together a bit now, that reminds me i need to check out how my turbo is coming on.
Something that i have been thinking about is my split r, will this be ok to run with a jbs04 stage 3?
Or would i be better off switching over to a 007, what sort of a noise would i get from a 007 at this level of tune? Thanks joe
