well i took it to a trusty local VAG specialist, and have been going there since, the guy knows his stuff, when i first got the car about 3 months ago, and he had a quick look nothing thorough but seemed positive that the turbo was on its way out & a seal was leaking so in turn it was burning oil, gets through the stuff thats for sure?

Why would you think otherwise? I would have thought something that serious would be noticable, the car still goes like stink, starts every time etc, doesnt make any funny noises or rattling

Could also be a broken seal i.e. valve stem as the blue smoke is a sign of burning oil so it's obviously getting somewhere it shouldn't be. I imagine if it was a ring you'd have a noticeable decrease in performance but either way this isn't something you want to leave

I hada 306 rallye, sold it to my mate, and has his ibiza, we had a play from 30 - 110 private road ofcourse and pulled 8 - 10 car lengths comfortably.

is that costly? i know i dont plan on leaving it but was about to buy a replacement turbo or get mine rebuilt..having second thoughts now lol

Wouldn't be too sure on price as I've never had it done on any of my cars. The seals would be cheap it's the labour that'd sting. If it was valve stem seals then I guess it'd just be a case of stripping the head and replacing the seals whereas the piston rings would require more labour.
