Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I've just purchased a 2003 Tdi 130 sport with 95k on the clock for 4 grand. Mileage was a bit high than I was hoping but the car is in great condition and pulls like a train!

Would you say I've got a good deal, also thinking about a remap in the near future and wondering wether that's sensible given the current mileage?

Just paid a little less than 6k from a Seat dealer for a 53 plate 130TDi with 45k on clock

so with the mileage yors is a fair deal I would say

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I would think you got a pretty good deal. These engines will run and run so i wouldnt worry about the mileage.

Remapping the car shouldnt be a problem and theres plenty on it if you do a search.

the engine will cope with a remap fine (if it hasn't already got one)

cos of the mileage most probably straight after the remap you will get a boost hose pop off so get them checked whilst getting the remap (they do it on newer ones quite often)

I bought one of them eBay specials about 3 years back for around the same price, same age too but with 85k (don't worry, if its the one that ended on the bay last night, its not mine!), the car was fine but all the suspension bushes were screwed!

I had to change the anti roll bar, links, wishbones and bushes on the front to cure the noises, but the dash rattles did my head in that much I sold it. I now have a 12k car and it has the same dash rattle - dammit!

Should be alright bud. Suspension is a bit of an issue on higher mileage Ibiza's but if it's been looked after properly it should be ok! :D Enjoy! I have one of these myself.

Mine's a 53 plate with 27k on the clock now. Had 12.5k when I bought it just over a year ago! :-o

The TDi 130 has to be one of the best engines across the whole VAG range.
Assuming the engine has a good service history it'll last for ages.
A remap should give you between 35 and 45 extra hp plus extra torque.
I agree with comments re the timing belt so check it out.
A remap will also tell you how good the clutch is.
Enjoy your Ibiza!

Regards Guy.

Welcome :)

I bought my old 03 TDI Sport back a few weeks ago, it's on 98k with full dealer history (I owned it until 80k....) and paid around the same figure.

Hi Guys,
Tnaks for all the helpful comments. It wasn't an ebay buy, found it in the local Adrader. it's got a full seat service history and so I'm pretty sure all the routine replacements have been sorted but i'll double check.
Picking her up tomorrow night so will get some pics up soon and I'll get saving for that remap.

Actually speaking of remaps, I was reccomended a company called Chipped UK who seem quite prominent on the VW forums but I've not seen much on here. Any good or bad experiences?

Thanks again
