As the title suggest I’ve traded in my slightly troublesome '02' 1.2 and gone all the way and brought a '57' ex sales demo PD130 FR. picked the car up on Saturday and well what can I say I’ve covered 285miles and all I can say is WOW!! Love the new car, so much torque and power compared to the 1.2!!!

So here we go..........

All ready added the chrome line air vents and gearshift surround (nicked out my 1.2!) next on the list is a tow bar (need it for bike rack), lcr splitter and then not shore.

Performance mods are out of the question for insurance reason (well for the moment) but any other suggestion will be handy!

All comments and ideas welcome! :)

Cheers aimez, I like the FR clan!!

You would not believe how different it feels quicker, tighter, smoother and well the mpg still has me amazed!! Im told it will only get better as it loosens up as its needs running in!

Welcome to the FR club . I love mine too. Dont rule out the engine mods. I fitted a PD2 box from logic www.dieseltuning.uk.com its been on the rolling road an has 173 BHP an 289 torq . it takes 5 mins to fit and even less to remove, for servicing etc . As for the insurance !!! you could choose not to tell them as they could never know ? but thats up to you . Ohh an its soooo worth the 292 quid. lol

id rather keep the insurence company informed just incase! performace mods i think will be next year now, gives me time to save up!!

*cough* Remap *cough* :D

20mm rear hubcentric spacers - HIDS - exhaust? - nice panel filter - PD160 intake.

Wish mine had that mileage! :-o Done about 14,000 in mine just over a year!

Fun engines though aren't they!

:D

The spacers, and HIDS ill put on my 'to do list'. Exhaust and remap will have to wait due to insurance.

The pd160 intake is that a 'performance mod' as in would i need to inform insurance company?? Want every thing to be above board

the engines are awsome fun, cruise at 70 getting huge mpg, or attack the b road with all the torque

yep I did it and havnt told them, dont think it would get noticed anyway, got a green cotton filter as well but doubt they would ever open it up.

Im getting facelift bumpers thinking I may need to inform them about these, or play the it came with them card.... hmmm wot to do.

To be honest you cant tell if your car has a remap. Insurance can't anyway. You obviously can! But if your car is in an accident - the engineer never plugs in his laptop to the ECU - not even in the worst situation. And the engineer never drives the car. And the bodyshop aren't gonna care. It's up to you what you do mate cos it's your policy. But i personally dont see the point in declaring remaps. Although you legally should. But like i say - your policy. And you can get away with changing your air filter cos it's in a box and can't be seen! :)

My theory is it's a genuine Seat part so is no harder to get hold of than the other bumper - if anything it's easier to get hold of as it's for the latest model!

You can tell i work for a body repair centre - i know all the things insurance check for!

The way I see it - i crash my car - i repair my car.

plus mate, I would just play the seats come with that, im not an expert its obviously had a bump and someones replaced it before me card. I get the point in declaring body kits etc but dont see the big diffrence in having a seat bumper put on surely its exactly the same lol.
