Hi, seriously debating what I should do with my Leon Tdi. I love the attention it gets (full aero kit fitted) even better when people ask what it is!!!! Just wondering what engine mods people have done to theirs and power they have, also any problems with clutchs like the the mk1 Tdi's. Have noticed that the DervDoctor can get 245bhp from this engine. Look forward to seeing how much power you can get from this engine. Cheers

Thanks for the advice, i'll stay clear of them then! What work have you done to achieve that magic 330 bhp? Bet you've shock a lot of people with that power!

engine mods : Allard VT5 turbo, custom manifold, custom down pipe, Milltek exhaust,Head ported, propane injection,NOS,EGr system removed,CDA airfilter plus a few other little bits.
I have tested my car in different states of tune.
Running just diesel 240ish bhp
Diesel/propane mix 280ish bhp
Diesel/propane/NOS 330ish bhp
I am not a great lover of NOS and only fitted it to prove it could be done on this setup plus i wanted more power.Hopefully getting a bigger turbo set up fitted Nov/Dec which should run between 350-400bhp without NOS.

im getting very conflicting stories about power and big turbos from different tuners

can anyone clarify?

several including jabba and jbs say they can only get 205-210 max from a turbodynamics hybrid turbo due to fuelling limitations (jbs) or turbo limitations (jabba) where as turbodynamics themselves, allard and dervdoctor are saying 220-235 with turbo and exhaust on standard fuelling

thats a big difference! -

jbs said that they can do bigger injectors with their hybrid turbo and i would get about 240hp but that adds another £1000 to the cost

devonmikeyboy got 240ish with a turbo and ?standard injectors so i guess that tells me the injectors could give 240hp with the right mapping and the right turbo - big injectors should give more, maybe 260-280?

I would be very surprised if Jabba said they cannot get more then 205-210 bhp with a hybrid as every Jabba hybrid diesel i have read about has been 220 + bhp. Mikey H on this site is running 230ish bhp with a Jabba conversion and Devoneutopia was running about the same before he went bigger turbo again. Allards,APS,AwesomeGTI,Jabba,Derv Doctor can all give you 220+ bhp at the flywheel quite easily. jbs is the only company who cannot get 220+bhp on standard injectors and try to talk customers into buying bigger injectors but you might want to ask them how many hybrid diesel cars have jbs not custom code but jbs mapped. 230-240ish bhp is the general max peak bhp of stock injectors before you start to fit a reprofiled cam and mess with the fuel injection pressure then you can get 260-270 bhp bhp.

thanks devonmikeyboy - the more phone calls i make the more variation.

awesome are supposed to be an allard fitter but told me they havnt actually done one yet on a pd140

allard never replied to my email and several phone calls about a price

derv doctor said they would get about 235hp but ive phoned them about 4 times so far to get a price and still no luck

jbs gave me a clear price and lots of info but said 205-210 and wanted to sell me big injectors - which ii dont mind but i would expect more than 240hp for big injectors.

jabba were talking about 210-220hp with a hybrid and said they were looking at much bigger turbos for the pd140 but hadnt dont the development work - if the injectors are the limiting factor i cant see how this is going to help.

you said you would be unhappy with jbs and derv doctor - can you say why? as derv doctor are close to me, so are awesome and jbs arent that far away either

thanks

Although im impressed with the mods done here, esp DevonMikey's the problem I see is that the torque curve is sharp as a razor. Personally, I would prefer a mod to be flat across the whole rev range.
