Hi All,
I just wanted to create this post to hopefully help people in the future who may have the same issue.
I own a 2014 Leon X-perience 2.0 TDI, manual, 4drive, 82000 miles, engine code: CRLB.
I have been experiencing an intermittent but fairly violent hesitation while under load.
Happened in any gear and at any rev range.
It would just completely lose power for a fraction of a second and then recover. Depending on how much I was pressing the accelerator, it would be quite a violent jerk if I was foot to the floor.
No starting issue and full power on the engine, it drove lovely except for the hesitation.
I scanned with VCDS and zero engine faults.
Having completed some research on the forums, there were a number of suggestions but the crank sensor was always suggested.
I took it to one garage who wouldn’t replace the part without a diagnosis at the cost of £125 plus vat just for the diagnosis, and I knew they wouldn’t find anything as I have VCDS.
I took it to another local garage who were brilliant and supplied and fitted the crank sensor for me for a genuine Seat part. Total cost was £201 vat included.
So far I’ve completed roughly 500 miles since the replacement and I’ve not had a single issue.
Garage said the sensor was very dirty and was the original part.
Hopefully if anyone else is suffering with this issue and no engine faults, the crank sensor may be a good place to start
