Hi all.
I have just bought a Seat Leon FR TSI DSG and was looking to get it remapped.
However, I have heard that the DSG box can not take a major increase in torque. Does anyone know if this is true or indeed how much torque the DSG can safely take.
All help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I understand that the DSG box can withstand at least a stage 1 map. I did read a couple of stories where they got a golf up to 400Bhp with 370lb/ft (I think) without a problem.

Is it that it will be confused, so the auto box will change gear in the wrong place or that the box can't withstand it? If so, is the DSG box in an R32 different in some way?

I have no real intention of remapping my Stylance TDi, but was wondering about this too.

All the reasons I heard were that the box couldn't take the torque, I don't think the electronics have ever been called into question.

Surely any amount you could remap a petrol FR to wouldn't push out more torque than an R32, or a powerful TDi engine that some of the larger Audis are fitted with?

I know some of the Audis and Golfs have more torque than the Seat but I also heard rumours that the DSG the Seat gets isn't the same as the Audi & VW.

It is that the box can't take the toraue increase.
I have heard they are different but again am unsure
