Had someone open there car door on to my rear quarter panel while parked up. There is now a nice dent in the side of my car[:@][:@][:@][:@]

Gonna take to dealers later and see if they can pull it out.... or repair it.....

Anyone else done this, if so, how much did it cost??

Don't panic!

So long as there's access to the back of the dent most can be improved if not removed!

Quotes I would expect to be from £25 to £50. If there are others around the car or you can get a couple of cars done at the same time sometimes a deal can be done!

phew, its not big, its just noticable. i dont see why there isnt access, its where the rear door should be on a 5 door (i have the 3 door) drivers side. Hope its not too much....

far too cheap for a main dealer, an hours labour there is £60 mate.

and thats if it can be removed using paintless dent removal. Im guessing the paint hasnt been broken?

The better option is to keep away from the dealer and go to proper dent magician

the paint hasnt been broken, i was hoping they would be able to pull it out with that machine that suctions them out....
:( its gonna cost more than i thought :(

nah me neither, he just stated in his first post that was where he was taking it. Saying that though most dent magicians up here charge 50-60 per pannel.

I had one fixed at my local seat dealer, they have a guy come in once a week to do all the dents and chips on the cars people are buying (you know the ones that you point out when looking at the car and say I want that fixed if I'm buying it)

they didn't charge me as it was one of about 20 cars the guy had to work on

Look in the "Car Detailing" section of this Forum (SCN), as there is a decent Thread on there about a dent removal tool that can be purchased for around £15 (ish).

Comes as a suction bridge with a centre suction cup/puller.

Seems to have had decent results and has helped most that tried it to pull out the dent so its almost invisible. Sounds like a bit of practice with the Tool to get the best results helps, but theres nothing really to lose (aparet from the dent!). :)

.....At that price its worth a try!?

EDIT: Save you some time, found the Thread...

Go on yell.com and search for "paintless dent removal" in your area.

I use a guy from Bedford, he does some high profile cars so I can safely trust him with mine. My old 130 was littered with dents and he got them all out. I also lent on my front wing and put a hand sized dent in it, he had that one out the quickest.

If he's coming to do one dent, he'll charge £30, if I give him a load of work he'll do them for a tenner a dent :)

UPDATE
Cheers for all the ideas, i went to my local SEAT dealer and they said they dont do in house dent repairs etc, but they use this guy called the DENTISTE, lol. So they gave me his number and I gave him a call. Turned out he was at another garage doing some dent removal to a few of their cars. He told me to come on over and he will suggest what to do. So i drove over and he looked at it and said he would do it there and then. It took him about 20-30 mins to sort it out and it now looks good as new!!! And he only charged me £30 quid :D even better!!! lol
I trusted him on my car aswell because when i turned up to the garage it was the Land Rover garage, he was working on some stupid amount of money land rover. lol

Great result SilverSport, and at that price you must be pleased!?

Do you mind me asking which part of your country you are at?
....might need someone to 'fix' one that has magically appeared on my tailgate! :censored:

Cheers! :)

yeh sure, down in devon. I dont know how far he is prepared to travel, i was lucky to be close to him when i phoned the guy so i drove round the corner and he did it there and then. He did a really good job and you couldnt ever tell a dent was onced there :D

Ok thanks for the quick reply - bit far from me unfortunately. It appears no matter where the dent, with the right expertise, they can practically make it disappear! :)

no probs, yeh i know what you mean, this one was on the curve on the rear quarter panel of my 3door, i thought it was doomed as it was on the curve, he jst took the speaker cover off, gave it abit of heat and a prod with a big stick and 30mins later it was gone......
