• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
I'm waiting for a price to come back from Hong Kong to make something similiar. Will probably never happen to be honest, but I'm finding out anyway.

& theyve already don this on one of the new Cupra MY08 models, I was worried that i had made a mistake bying the Cupra early, but im sure 12 months later, ive made the right choice :D

I am glad mine does not have the Aero bumpers either - to be honest, I would not have bought a Cupra if that is how they came out the factory like that as standard. I would be driving an Edition 30 right now if that was the case.

The Aero bumpers are an acquired taste, much like marmite. I think the Aero bumpers will dictate if your car is more or less desirable more than any other option when it comes to trade in time.

Some people love Aero bumpers, some of us hate them. Going through all the Aero kit posts, seems like a 50/50 split. Not many people, on the other hand, have anything much negative to say about the stock FR/Cupra bumpers other than us Cupra boys complaining that the two models look too much alike, and the FR lads being happy they are so similar.

This splitter would help give the Cupra the Cupra R look it is currently lacking.

And the FR a nice look too!!:D

I don't know anyone on here who has made an FR look like a Cupra with badging and the black strip on the bumper, though i may be wrong. The Cupra should look totally different though i agree

Yeah, it would look good on the Cupra and FR although with the bottom middle part of the bumper being body colour on the FR, perhaps a little less so the case?

There are at least a couple of FR's with the gloss black mirrors, door trim and bottom middle part of bumper painted black like the Cupra.

I think to pull the splitter on this thread off, an FR bumper might need to be modified to be like a Cupra bumper.....

Of course I could be talking mince!

No your right, i would have to make my middle bit black. But not to look like a Cupra but so the red bit doesn't make it look cack

Seconded, but just a thought, what about the splitter that's used on the Cupra Championship cars, surely that can be found somewhere in the Seat part bin?? Although there might be issues with type approval tho'....

How about something like this (what do you all think);)

I have a contact in Hong Kong who makes stuff out of Carbon Fibre, maybe if you had a technical drawing I could get an idea of price ??

Not as yet, I sent examples etc, but I need a rough price before I do anything else.

I think it was when it was realeased on the Cupra that I started to dislike it.
Origionally I was going to buy the 2.0 TFSI sport and get the aero kit to put on it.
Sick of seeing it now!

:think:Slightly wider than our cars I think.
Why exactly doesn't the Cupra look like this?
And why can't we get them in Metallic Blue?

David

Miles wider!

Have you ever seen one of these Cupra race cars up close??

The wings and 90% of the body are ready to snap off due to it's lightness. Lets just say that by waxing the bonnet would lead to your hand crashing through to the engine. They look pretty tacky up close

They are built for the purpose not the forecourt

I just phoned them and got a contact to whom I have sent all the relevant information. Will advise when I get something worthwhile :)
