Advice On Springs???

i have a w2000 reg 1.4 ibiza and want to lower it. ive found on the for sale section jamex front lowering springs 40mm and koni rear 30mm of a cupra. will they fit or do i need specific springs? matt.

To be honest i wouldn't advise mixing different make springs as it'll effect the handling quite abit. It'll be best to get a full matched set.

o wicked nice one. another thing... iv just got hold of some cupra wheels the 5 spokes will the car be able to handle 60mm all round if i can get hold of some? just incase im stuffed if it droppes to low. many thanks matt!

i expect 60mm will be fine because its from standard height, so the cupra is a bit lower than yours and you can normally lower about 50/60mm without problems. so hopefully 60 on yours should make it about the same!

thanks mate findin it pretty hard to find 60mm springs ive found some 35mm and 45mm think ile prob go for the 45mm ile only regret getting the 60mm due to rubbing on speed humps ect.. thanks again matt.

i have 40mm drop on Jamax springs (also a 1.4)

my advice: don't do it! I dropped mine in Aug, and in feb or so, the ride has become horrid. thud when you hit a pothole, "boucny" opn country roads

save and get coilys!

I think the budget versions will still do the job pretty well tbh. Check these out Matti.....

Says 99-01 even though Mk3s went to 2002. No doubt will fit though.

Yeh they are better option really, aslong as u dont mind the price.

what are those coilovers like. I have an 8mth old little boy and he comes in the car with me sometimes. Dont want the ride to be too hard. Want to drop it down and still have a nice ride.

Coilovers are generally stiffer then springs and shocks and the lower you go on these the stiffer they get.

yeah i know they are stiffer but some coilovers offer a soft ride even when there low. Springs and shocks wouldn't lower car enough.
