i've got rid of the lot, get a light every now and again, and the fault code is incorrect flow detected or summin like that

i have got rid of both valves and replaced with resistors. I get light every now and again. I have blocked off the vacuum hoses. I have been adviced that if i disconnect the sai by its plug that i may not get a light but might get a code. I dont know if thats right but i think that the people that have completely removed it, these are the ones with no light or code. I could be wrong.

SAI still in place for me but both valves removed, i get the incorrect flow code almost every time i log in and have had the light come on twice in about 3 months.

After reading this i think im going to remove the SAI too.

i removed the n211 n249 and replaced with resistors and had no lights or errors from that

removed the sai and didnt use a resistor on the plug, just left it unplugged... i have had an error light come on and a "SAI incorrect flow detected" fault code logged a few times, but i have found this only happens if i start my car from cold (on a cold morning) and leave the car idling for a few minutes

i have a scangauge II so the fault is easily cleared :)

its a great mod... id defo recommend doing it... its a lot simpler than it seems

thanks for jinxing me guys. On the tap top she goes. lol. Thats 4times in 2 weeks. Sai is getting unplugged tomorrow! FINAL!

I blocked off my SAI pipe but you dont have to. Dont see the point in the extra hassle of removing it unless you want to tidy the bay. Plugged in electronically but plumbed out vac wise theres no lights and only the code and removed completely may still give the code.

with the sai pump removed it makes it sooooo much easier to change the oil filter!! id recommend doing it purely for that reason... i can do an oil and filter change in about 30mins now!!

Nope. Little fiddly but doesnt take long at all on a ramp.

wish u had been there when i was doing mine as it was a F***ING pain in the ass!!

with the SAI removede tho it just unscrews and comes off... loads of space all around it

with the SAI and all its pipes removed it does neaten up the engine bay a lot too

Well I put the resitors in today and blocked the SAI. I was going to unplug the SAI too, but I couldn't find it!

I've been out for a 20min drive and haven't got any codes or faults. The DV response is slightly better but other than that can't notice any other differences.

The main reason I did this mod was for easy access to the coils and to tiday the bay up a bit....and it's certainly done that. Certainly glad I did it :) (so far)

24 hrs later and the bloody engine light came on! 16795 - SAI Incorrect Flow Detected

Where abouts is the plug to the SAI which some people have taken off?

ive unpluged mine and it just hangs there raped in a lil water proof bag

Unpluging the SAI pump is exactly what you need to do. Having it stick connected will mean its still working so with the vac hose on the valve blanked off theres going to be alot of unused pressure building up in there.

Jim if you can get underneath the car you see it easily, follow the beather pipes down to find the pump and the connector is on the right hand side of it (when looking at it), if you were looking from above you should see it down to the left of the oil filter. Just disconnect it making sure you cover the contacts with some tape, bag or anything like that. We got my cousin an his skinny arms under the car doing Mr D's the other day lol
