Slight Acceleration Hesitation

Hi guys ive posted this on CC but there is always more activity on here:D

Ive been running CC's phase 1 map now for a few weeks now and am loving every minute of it;)

Lately I have noticed a slight hesitation when I fully depress the accelerator before the car picks up on speed. Its only a slight hesitation but noticeable. It does not matter what RPM I depress at it still happens.

Im running 99 octane all the time so I dont think its a problem with the fuel grade. Ive had the 007 for a long time and recently serviced it. There's no boost leaks and I know what that feels like;)

I dunno what it could be and I know that its a electronically controlled accelerator, but thats a millie second hesitation. Ive not ran vagcom yet and its only the shareware version so not full.

Hopefully there might be somebody on here thats had the same problem standard or mapped, or maybe somebody can shed some light on this.

Thanks ahead

Gareth

I'm guessing this is fly by wire throttle. It happens in my brand new Ibiza aswell and thats what I put it down to. Used to happen in the Clio I learnt in, that had fly-by-wire. Didn't happen in my Meggy, that didn't have fly-by-wire.

just re-read the original post, didn't realise you knew about the electronic throttle. I have no idea sorry, but how 'slight' in the hesitation? Closer to a second or what?

Coil pack already? Its only done 30K on a 55 plate. Didnt realise they were that prone to failing!

Its only a very slight hesitation, close to half a second I think. I dunno maybe its just me but it is f*****g annoying[:@]

Is there anything vagcom can do for me?

Sounds like a problem that I had recently with my bog standard 51-plate Cupra.

If I feathered the accelerator and then floored it, there would be a slight pause - sometimes, but not always. And that was the annoying thing - you never knew when it was or wasn't going to give you power! Once the 'stutter' had passed, the engine would take off, almost like it was compensating for the previous drop of power.

Took it in to get checked out, and the guys flushed the throttle body, checked for leaks/splits in hoses, cleaned the sparks, etc. - but ultimately could find nothing wrong. Driving it home after the look-see by the mechanics - it was as smooth as a baby's bum, and has been since!

My guess is that it was the clean of the sparks, as the problem was also drastically reduced after the last service I had, and they did very little else that may have solved the issue.

I'd give your sparks a good check - or even replace them?

Good luck!

I might do a throttle body alignment and see if that helps. I dont think taking the sparks out and cleaning them will help, maybe replacing them will but thats not happening yet its too early. Thanks for your replies

Still there, gonna buy the licence from Ross-Tech for vagcom so I can do a TBA.

I cant remember what colour spring I have in mine. I think once I purchase the licence form Ross-Tech i'll see what boost im running so I can put the correct spring in. Maybe thats what I can feel, although it does not feel like a boost prob.

If the TBA does not work then I dunno what to do. It doesn't seem like anyone else on here has suffered from this problem[:@]
