Like jamie said either a hybrid k03 or eliminator kit are the simplest to fit but are not the cheapest. Doing a k04 is harder to fit but the parts are cheaper to get.
Jamie-Wouldnt go counting your chickens jamie. Hopefully the work that cr turbos have done is good but you have not tried and tested it yet remember so recommending them might not be the best idea until you have fully tested their work.
Maybe. Depends on what you have done. Nobody apart from jbs know exactly what spec the jbs04 is so you cannot say take it here giv them £500 and you have the same as a jbs04 but it might be close.
Thats true in part but the hybrid work done by one place will differ from another even if the same modifications are requested. Also there are different options of hybrid. There are different options for bearings, compressor wheel and turbine etc etc. So going to three different turbo speciailists and asking for a hybrid that has an uprated and clipped compressor wheel, ported inlet and uprated bearings could give you three totally different spec hybrid turbos. Also jbs are a vag specialist so I would imagine they have tried a few different variations of bearings, internals etc to find what combination worked the best.
Yes but some k03 ybrids only produce 260bhp which for the extra £'s you have to ask is it worth it over the k03s. The jbs04 can produce much nearer 300bhp and although they are exspensive seem to constantly give good results. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
well lads what a difference to my car now with the ko4-001 turbo she bloody flies now.
