upgrading the exhaust - need advice

right, whats the best exhaust to go for? i wanna buy it offline as i have mates to fit it cheaply. any links of good ones? and also, are sports cat back systems ok for it? (are they a bit louder and more performance?) its for a cupra 180

I fitted a piper system inc downpipe with cat, not too loud when pottering along but a nice deep sound when floored.
As for power increase, got 8 bhp extra with it fitted.

Depends on what you are after, but my car was the development vehicle for the Cupra system, so i have had mine the longest. Quality is excellent and the turbo spins up a lot quicker. This also gives you the option of the flat oval outlet, Miltek will only give you a twin round outlet.

Risky i would have said with a turbo car. My experience with friends seems to be that you end up with something that they THINK will work. Still no guarantee it will sound how you want and they will charge you to make changes.
Just look at the problems i had with mine and that was designed for the car.

My existing map couln't cope with how fast the new exhaust allowed the turbo to spin up.
I cant really see you could get a better price with one of these make it up as you go systems. The piper prices are good and the quality is brilliant.
It does not rub, rattle or come loose and mine has been on the car for nearly 8 months now!

if say, i buy a piper system, including cat, pipes and back box, i take it its straight forward enough to fit a turbo back system to the top of it?

mate, im interested in the full piper exhaust system, just wondering if it gets boomy on motorways and the like?...would like a nice rumble but not nova ridiculous tho...does it pop and bang too?

Sounds like a Piper could be exactly what you're looking for. Mine sometimes pops a bid under engine braking but it's not loud and I think there's a small leak in the middle-section join causing it.

I have a feeling the LCR system is a slightly larger bore though, so it may be louder than my LC.

Cat-back goes from the cat to back box but the real restriction is in the cat so id get a turbo back system which includes down pipe ( from turbo) and sports cat. If you want loud go for a non-resinated system which means it doesnt have the secondery silencer so is louder.

can i fit a downpipe and sports cat to the standard rear back box? not sure what kind of tail pipe i want yet, so thinking of getting the back box at a later date if u's think that can be done?

Can be done but save your self the trouble and get it all done at once but if i had to do it get the cat back first.
