major coilover problems - scrubbing badly!

i couldnt realy tell you,they are fk highsports i think,and thats all i know,there ment to lower 60mm.rash had his cupra on them wound all the way too the deck

This is the only pic I can find since I had my coilovers fitted. Now before you comment, think about the fact that it's laden down with a week's worth of luggage and equipment for two people...

Even then, it rubbed slightly on the inner arch liner on big bumps, but that's been fixed now.

No we're not getting wild, we just don't want people to die because they're too vain to realise that their setup is dangerous. We do like our members... Honest!

Nope, a few miles of "spirited" driving on a certain ring road in Germany just took out the tiny bits in the front arch liners which were rubbing on the big bumps.

That's alright then! Don't agree with cutting huge holes in the wing liners - they are there for a reason. But if it's just scuffed it then that's acceptable!

I think you're missing one of these

but a better quality kit will have more appropriate spring & damper rates. and it's not as low.

Just found a slightly better pic with an empty car. You can see that none of the wheels are inside the arches, leaving ample travel.

imo thats not low enough..(can of worms?)

gotta admit i like a bit tuck on the wheels (if theyre not wide)

Going from the first pic of the gray ibiza, changing tyre size would help. Mine are all the way down atm. Lots of scrubbing but it looks good so im not to bothered. Could go lower but that would be taking the p!ss on 17's

Im on v-maxx...-120+mm all round on 205-40-17's and all my tires are under the arches they have adequate travel underneath and DO NOT and have NEVER rubbed...im not sure why some people have problems with rubbing when running the same setup...

in context i am 10cm off the ground measeured on the front from the lowest point on my front bumper (LCR splitter) and then 3cm from an average speed bump...

I think it just depends on how the car sits on its height...i mean redrum and fr-tdi are probably the same as me if not higher than me and they have it spot on! (fr-tdi is on 16's though so its a lil diff)

Just been out and measured mine. Its 13.5cm to the front bumper (facelift fr) and 5cm to the sump. And the gap between the arch and the tyre is about 6mm (cant get me finger in)
