Just been out and measured mine. Its 13.5cm to the front bumper (facelift fr) and 5cm to the sump. And the gap between the arch and the tyre is about 6mm:D (cant get me finger in)

my arches cover my tyres ;) front and back...In scene language im sitting point with tuck (but wider rear wheels ;) ) and with a slight - camber on the front.

ohh..ps my front can go lower by another 30mm :D

rummy! your sump is crazy close buddy!

Mines tucked, i had to look up inside to see how close it was lol. I can't drive over dead rabbits or bottles without the sump hitting them:lol: ive no thread left like, but the secondary springs could still be taken out, aswell as adjuster cups at the back;)

that first FR looks stupid, looks like the old renault 5's did with the tyres tucked far too far under.

You do know your probably catching because the FK's are softer and more balanced than the cheaper varients meaning you'll be catching that bent bracket..or ARB

not being funny, but the way the rear wheel is tucking back into the arch suggests that it's too low. not to mention that it looks 'too low'

raise it up to a much more sensible height, and stop comparing what you're doing to what other people 'say' they do on the internet.

taking advise from some of the kids on here who will happily run their cars on the bump stops is frankly stupid.

judging by the most recent posts ^^^ it looks like you've all successfully validated my theory.

When I ran my 130 at "show" height (http://www.tdisport.fotopic.net/p12062326.html), no matter what wheels it had on it (I had 3 sets, different sizes and offsets) the tyres would catch on the bumper mount. I drove it to GTI International and back and ruined a set of new tyres, and thats the day I realised that height is totally unsafe for road use.

You can chop the mount out (its easy to do) but seriously mate, I've been there, done that and won't be doing it again.

surely you theory can't b validated upon the post replies of only a couple of members? It's just your opinion.

No, my theory is that "kids" will post any old **** on the internet about the ride height of their car with total disregard for safety (of tyres hitting the shell) and common sense (ARB's fouling driveshafts)

Mine are all the way down atm. Lots of scrubbing but it looks good so im not to bothered.QUOTE]

will you be bothered if a tyre lets go and you kill someone?
we all want our cars to look good but screwing with the handling, steering and braking in a negative way over looks is madness.

Well thats fine then, because ive never had a problem with scrubbing or any of the associated ARB problems on driveshafts, but still mine was lower than the pic TomB just put up...

does it rub now youve raised it???have you got a picture of the part you cut off, doesnt that mean that the edge of the bumper will hang out??? and why wudnt you do it again lol

i think if it rubs on any lil bump then do arch work or raise it up but if its not scrubbing and not fouling on the driveshafts and arb then there is nothing unsafe about tucking you wheels everyone has there own opinion if it looks good or not but my opinion is if its done right slamming is excellent if done wrong its very dangerous and frankly looks PANTS!

it also helps to wrap your wheels with elastic bands rather than tyres....

what kinda work did you have to do to yurs to get the bbs wheels on,mine are only et35

I've since upgraded to a Cupra, it handled better and went a lot better!

I don't have any more pics I'm afraid, they're on a PC I need to fix. The edges of the bumper were loose, but stayed straight.

£140 on tyres in a weekend and the fact my rear springs were loose was the main reason, if you keep your rear spring cups in and raise it to mrcoyote's height, your car will handle best, be safe and not put excessive wear on your CV joints.

I love slammed cars, but I don't like driving them!

lol you really think i drive fast when its that low:confused: the idea of coilovers is that theyre adjustable. I dropped it that low for a show, and rarely go over 50mph when its like that. Its been raised a bit now and is fine:shrug:
