I had my Pants pulled Down today!!

Hey Guys,

Haven't been on here for a while but i thought i would enlighten you on my day, with my Leon Cupra TDI in a dealer for a 40,000 mile service and MOT.

It cost me £725.00, that's right £725.00!!!!!!!

Full Service, MOT and New Discs and Pads all round! Do you think that's not bad and i'm over reacting?

So what was the other £500 for??????

Never take it to a dealer for a service......

midland VW specialist... 40k service £140, new pads all round done seperately..£110..just need my mot doing in a week or so for £50..granted i aint had new discs aswell, but...£300, for somebody who probly knows more than the stealers anyways..ther just out to rob you dude!

That's another vote for pants pulled i'm afraid. Dealers can charge up to £90 plus VAT per hour which is twice what a decent independant would charge, even the specialists are half that.

So, not wanting to have mine pulled, can anyone recommend someone close to Preston, Lancs ?
Just a full service for me, inc cambelt and waterpump, just had mot done at work for £35.
PS - guess I should have searched - sorry.

You have been well and truly fisted mate. I did most of the 40k service myself then got Seat to do the rest and stamp the book. Cost £140 total. They tried to tell me it need new discs and pads. When I measured them there was still 40% wear left on, so I took them off and skimmed them and they looked like new. Cost me nothing.

Picked up my mums cupra tdi after being in the dealers for key problem basically had to use the key manually to open the door as the remote was fubar'd. £100 for new key sections and thats after last month she paid £45 for it to be reprogrammed as it kept loosing remote unlocking. £145 on a key problem - pi%% take
