I did a search but didnt find anything directly relating to what I was after, basically the key ring part of my key has snapped so I cant actually put my car key on a key ring making it a pain to keep hold of two sets of keys, so im looking at getting a new key and kleeping the current one as a spare.

Does anyone know how much a dealer will charge? Or is it easier to source one of Ebay or the like?

Thanks

Please search the forum. There is so many posts about replacement flip keys.
Ebay is going to be so much cheaper than a dealer.

I did search the forum as per my post, I couldnt find an answer to my main question which was the cost from a main dealer.

Cost from dealer is about £130-£150

Cost from ebay less than £50. Providing you can get someone to code the immobiliser for you. If not then maybe £80 if you go back to the dealer with the key to be coded. Either way it's cheaper than paying new prices from a dealer.

you can use the transponder from the current key, as said try searching for flip key as I have done the same search myself and made posts on it in the last week.

You can only code the transponder once, so you will have to either use the one in the key that has lost it's ring bit, or you will have to go to the dealer for them to code a new transponder.

There is a link on here somewhere for new transponders I believe...

Just spoke to Wiltshires Seat and they told me £110 + VAT for the key plus £24 + VAT for the programming, so second hand is the way to go!

£130-£150??????????? No way
Replacement key fob £34+vat (£40) and 0.3hr to program
Full key inc blade £55+vat (£64) and 0.5hr to program
At least thats what we charge and thats SEAT rrp and book time!

I was quoted £140 ish with VAT by a Seat dealer 18 months ago.
It was £90 ish for the full fob then programing on top.
Others have been quoted similar in other threads. It may well be cheaper now

oops deleted my post accidentally
Part number for remote fob is 1M0959753E (01 on) at £34+vat, full key is 6L0837219RINB at £55+vat. Book time for fob program is 0.3hr, full key is 0.5hr
Def use this info with your dealer as we should all be using the same SEAT guidelines.

I went to Seat on Saturday and they told me I need to know my key code to be able to have it programmed which I can obtain from the supplying dealer.

Unfortunately they supplying dealer being Sidlows have now gone into administration so I cannot obtain it.

Would Seat UK hold this kind of information or do I need to pay to have the guys Vag Com the car to find the code on the ecu?
