Can a Leon FR be easily modified by blufin (or similar) that can also be easily converted back to stock for servicing? Can the ECU just be 'flashed' back to stock...?

Alternatively are there any cheap air filters that improve the sound of the engine induction?

I am giving the car bck in 3 yers so I dont want to spend too much.

What are my realistic options?

Budget £500

from what ive read....you dont need to change it back for servicing....and they keep your original map on a c.d or something so they can put it back....

most people go for custom-code, revo, p-torque or some similar over blufin types

Is it a petrol or diesel FR for starters?

If it's a petrol, then there are a myriad of switchable remaps out there, but you should be aware that if you remap your car and then don't notify your insurance company then your insurance is technically invalid.

If you go for a bluefin you get a hand held thing from superchips. When you get it, you plug it into the car and download the standard map. Load that onto your computer and send it to them. They send you back the new performance map that is coded for your ecu. You then plug the hand held thing into the car and upload the new map. Then you can swap the maps back and forth when you want.

Plus when you get another car, that has a blufin map available, put this one to standard and you get a discount off the next map.

Sorry forgot to add it is petrol fr. Sorry for being thick, but where would i plug it into the handheld thing into the car?

I had a look on youtube for a demonstration of how to do the remap but no luck.

Can seat tell if the car has been remapped and reverted back to a stock map at a later date?

You plug it into the OBD port of the car. It's in the interior behind a plastic flap.
Revo also has a switchable unit btw.

They can tell by searching for the last memory entry date if I'm not mistaken but if you change it before service there should be no reason to search for changes.

We can offer customer DIY flash kits, but I'm not a great fan.

Why? On a car with warranty, it is something alot of people look for.

Does your unit change the code without affecting the flash counter out of interest?

Well, the latest BMW's have an update where if the ECU is reflashed again it can lock out.

We had to update our tool to get around this, updating 100's of flash units would be a nightmare.

The older ECU's won't be a problem though...
