When i eventually get my car back from the stealers :headhurt:
, 1 of the first mods to do is change the forge dump valve , but what are peoples opionions on the spacer?

is it too chavy? or does it sound ok?

can it be made quieter once its on there or does it have to be removed?

all constructive comments welcome :)

It can be adjusted for fully recirculation(softest) up to 100% to air (loudest).... should be fine! Gives one flexibility. Personally i dont like too loud so never bothered with it!

Waste of time and money mate. OEM valve is perfectly adequate.

Is there any real point in changing the dv? Not heared of the Bosch dv failing on these as they are located away from the heat of the turbo and the diaphram is stonger than the bosch dv featured on the 1.8t. I did ask early last year and nobody had any experience of theirs failing.

..if you chip the car the OEM is not good anymore...ther is many cupra ho didnt change DV, and had the car tuned, because the higher pressure i the OEM DV faild, you have to go whit this http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190203&product=FMFSITVR, you can see the picture below, that is the orginale after remap...

yeah i had to change mine after i had mine remapped, as the OEM valve dosent hold the higher boost well and i had the spacer fitted, i like the wosshhhhhh noise :p

I went through 2 or 3 OEM valves on my Revo'd 56 plate audi a3 2.0T (260bhp). As mentioned the valve in the Cupra is remotely located at the top of the engine so it does not suffer from hot temperatures as much and is less likely to fail. I replaced mine anyway because i had soo much trouble with the audi valve and with 300bhp+ in the Cupra i wasn't sure if it was up to the job! In the audi forums lots of people suffered torn valves when remapped...the new location seems to help as i haven't heard of any problems here!

Re spacer: only use the male/female flanged type not the flat plate versions, because the the high torque put out by the these engines will attempt to put extra loads on the bolts least if you go for the flanged type the load is spread evenly. I use "FK hub centric" TUV approved type for the last 5yrs and have limited off set to 40mm in total - for road use anyway.

He is not talking about wheels spacers, but a forge Diverter Valve noise maker. :)

whats the noise like ? a waste gate chatter type noise or a hks DV type tweet noise?

the wastegate noise like, duh duh duhhhh daa (u know what i mean) is caused by having an aftermarket air filter mate, the spacer is more of a tiischh

Very true, when I fitted my neuspeed CAI when i let off and then hit the gas again I get that fluttery 'chatter' sound. When i just floor the throttle it makes a sucking whoosh.
The spacer I heard made a tisccchhhhh sound.
