Has anyone asked the question to SEAT about removing the DPF?

Would it invalidate warranty for the whole of the car or just for related parts?

Whats your opinions?

I'm guessing they may say engine warranty is invalid or something, exhaust?, times are tight at the moment for all manufactures so they will look to wangle out of more claims than before.
PS Like the lead balloon and I'm sure someone will be along here soon to answer the question better than I.

I can't see them being too happy and it could have other consequences as the car would no longer be Euro V.

At best I think it would impact the warranty on the exhaust, engine management system and engine at least.

Also be careful if the car is on finance from SEAT as it could be classed as a major modifiction and they are within their rights to reposses the car.

You could try phoning SEAT customer services or the dealer.

Im interested in the De-DPF because i have had 4 sensors fail and the cars only 4 months old! But i dont want to risk loosing the rest of my Warranty and i will probably trade it in once its out of Warranty because i wont get sensors replaced for free anymore, which im guessing will be 36 of them by then?!

wouldn't the engine management system need to be adjusted as well if you removed the DPF?

I feel sorry for SEAT FR owners as the DPF doesn't seem to one of SEAT's strong points. I have not heard of one TT TDi owner having any issues.

Yeah, Custom-Code have made a remap that makes the car think it hasnt got a DPF, the figures they quote in their forum is quite impressive!

I dont know how they've got it so wrong? I think Ford are using them too without any problems?

Other manufacturers have had issues though, SAAB for example have had terrible issues.

I suspect that the facelifted FR won't have the same issues as they seem to apply the PD engine and not the CR.

I think keeping the car until the warranty runs out is a good plan and just be prepared to initiate the re-gen procedure when prompted to do so, rather than risk any problems.
