Lee, that procedure is to match the *immobiliser* in the key to the immobiliser control in the car. Matching the remote central locking control is a separate process.

gazzy-g, will the new key start the car? I'm guessing it won't, in which case you need to do both the remote control matching and the immobiliser matching.

There are lots of threads about remote control matching, a search should pick up a few. There are at least two methods, I think. I expect VAG-com can be used to do this job. Need to do some research.

Done. Yes, it can.

Never heard of VAG-COM being able to synchronise a new remote. As Lee says, you need the door lock to do this.

No you don't.

You can pair the remote and the immobiliser with VAG-COM. You just need the SKC code to do the immobiliser chip.

I paired my remote using VAG-COM as I have de-locked my car so have no door lock to do it.

Could you detail how you do this?

I've always used VAG-Tacho to extract the immobiliser pin or SKC from the instrument cluster or immo box and then used the same program or VAG-COM to get the immobiliser to learn the new key. I've never seen it used to synchronise a remote transmitter to the central locking receiver though and would be interested to find out how its done.

All you need to know is right here Remote Matching

There are about 3 varying ways here but mine was done using the very last one to clear the existing keys then the first method to programme all keys I have.

Does anybody have a rough cost of what it would cost to get the locks replaced on a SEAT Leon Ref Sport

I have a nasty feeling that my keys were left in the front door last night, and don't want to run the risk of waking up with nothing but tire marks in place of my car!!

This would be better asked in the mk2 section. But if they are anything like the mk1's you just need to get that key removed from the cars memory. It would still open the doors but wouldn't be able to start the engine.

try doing the following steps:

1-Lock the car.

2-(you need to stay near the car)
keep pressing the first button from your remote control and at the same time press the 2nd button twice.

3-keep pressing the 2nd button and at the same time press the first button twice.

Check if it works. I ve done the same in my old Ibiza and it worked.
Sorry for my english
