Quick update on the car!

Got a few things done this week, after the engine flush, filter and oil change I replaced the wipers for aero ones... iv put them on a few of my past cars, they just make the whole car look more modern!

Had the air-con re-gassed by kwik fit on friday, its nice and cold again!

Its booked into a very reputable bodyshop in blackburn to have the paint fade, lacquer peel & rusty rear arches sorted out, so its getting pretty much a full spray.
Its costing quite abit, but will look a million dollars once its done, and I think it deserves it too.

Will get a load of before and after pics.

After the bodywork ill be doing a full on detail, then sort out what im doing with the alloys.

Iv also gotta sort out the wipers, there both out of sync for some reason, which really gets on my nerves! lol

my advice on while its in the body shop mate.

get the rear arch 'lip' cut out this are is prone to causing rust so cutting it out means you remove that lip and it means you can deck the car lower with 20m rear spacers

Yeah, one of the previous owners rolled the rear arches and didnt treat them.
So when they were rolled, the paint was cracked, thus causing the rear arches to start rusting big time.
This is all being sorted when its at the bodyshop, he will cut out the rusted rolled parts and treat the other rust.

Its going a slightly darker shade than ovni yellow, so it looks more "yellow!" lol
ha..

How much is it costing to have it done if you dont mind me asking i really need to get my bonnet done but depending on the price i may get the whole car done different...

Im toying with the idea of a subtle glitter or somthing..

Its expensive, best part of 2 grand, there is abit of rust in places, especially the rear arches, this is all being sorted aswell.

Its a big job changing the colour of a car, if you want it done properly that is, taking off the doors, under bonnet stuff, so you dont have a two tone car, for this kind of work done properly it would probably be about 3k!

Hoping to get the car back later this week! Cant wait now!

Iv been on detailed obsession again and ordered some more stuff to go with my detailing gear.

Got some Dodo Juice Banana Armour and a few new micro fibres, along with some everyday cleaning stuff... poorboys bug & tar remover, now were in the summer months.

Im picking up the paint for the wheels later this week too, so I can turn the chrome lip black.

Im going to be piggybacking the standard wiring for my alpine headunit when I get the car back.

Im basically going to be extending the "Multiple connector II" using some spare ISO male & female plugs I have.

Can someone check to see if I have this right:

Red ISO Cable (Switched Power) - PIN 1 (Positive KL15) - Multiple connector III
Yellow ISO Cable (Permanent Power) - PIN 5 (Battery positive, terminal 30) - Multiple connector III
Orange ISO Cable (Illumination) - PIN 6 (Lighting) - Multiple connector III
Blue ISO Cable (remote turn on) - Will connect direct to my amp
Black ISO Cable (Earth) - PIN 8 (KL31) - Multiple connector III.

Thanks!

Got the car back from the body shop yesterday! Im pleased with the result.
Bit of over spray here and there but nothing that cant be polished off!

Although the cars not perfect paint wise, it now looks acceptable to my standards, may get the bumpers done at some point in the future, but for now im happy:

As I had a day off today I decided to get into it and do something about the chavtastic alloys.
Im eventually going to get another set, silver in colour, but for the time being I had to do something about the ones I have.
Decided to take a trip to autopaint to get etch primer, black paint and lacquer.
Then set to work!

Firstly had to get rid of the imperfections on the chrome, so some p300 wet and dry sorted that:

Then it was onto masking:

Etch primer:

Painted and lacquered:

Decided to do something about the rear brake calipers whilst I was waiting for coats to dry, whoever had painted them before had done a shoddy job, red paint was flaking and it was badly faded.
New coat of hammerite sorted that out... cleaned the arches whilst I was at it:

Rains stopped play at the minute, just waiting for two of the wheels to finish drying then ill refit the alloys, cant wait to see what they look like!

Oh...am I in the club now?:
