Don't :banned: me!

But I need to fit an towbard to my 2004 LCR. When I last looked in to it there is not standard one that fits (I'm sure Seat agree it's shameful to fit one to an LRC? ) so I was going to fit the LC kit and cut my bumper?

Has anyone else had to do this?

Any advice (apart from don't fit one! ;) )

Thx I'll have a butchers, I'm sure I did have a look at it before.

I'm fairly sure LCR was never "Type Tested" for a tow-bar, so technically, you shouldn't do it (apparently when towing a heavier load, they ate prone to over-heating).............

......however...............

.................what do you intend to tow?

I know of one member on here with an LCR and a "Sneaky" tow-bar, which he uses for towing his competition go-kart aroung.

I thought as much.

I'll won't be towing often, but it'll be a very large trailer.

That sneaky member would be me. The most I tow is around 600kgs which does not strain the LCR at all. As a precaution you may want to fit oil temp and boost gauges so you can keep a closer eye on things while pulling; and be careful with your clutch with heavier loads!

Seeing as there is no type approval would or could this cause insurance complications if anything were to happen whilst towing? Just a question ive always wondered.

Ahhhh.. excellent. I will check the tow weight.

Seems crazy to see some cars on the road 1.2's and 1.4's with towbars and the LCR isn't allowed one!
