+25 BHP chip. Too good to be true? Probably

Just bought one of these thingumy bobs off fleabay with the intention of sticking it in a Pug 205 I have got for banger racing.

*I was going to post a link here but I am not allowed to post links to other sites as my post count on this site is not high enough yet. But if you go to Ebay and search for "+25 BHP chip for SEAT Ibiza, Leon Toledo" You should find what I am on about*

Anyway, it turns out said Peugeot is an old fashioned carburettor model and doesnt have anywhere to wire this chip into. (I bought the chip before I saw the car. DOH) So I was toying with the idea of putting it in my mk 3 Ibiza 1.4. Naturally I am aware that there is no such thing as a free lunch and adding this cheap little box of tricks might possibly do more harm than good. I was just wondering if anyone had bought one of these and could tell me if they worked or not. And more importantly if they caused any trouble with the car that was expensive to repair. Also if anyone could point out any potential pitfalls of fitting these things I would be very greatful.

hehe yep that would be a bit stupid I agree. Nope was looking for ways to wring a bit more go out of my pug for next to no cash so did a search for bits for that car. But by the looks of it these chips will go in any modernish car. The guy selling them just changes the name of the car in the listing so whatever car you are looking for bits for, His special magic go faster whatever the hell it is will come up.

So to summarise: Its a pile of poo and it might have been ok for a car that was expected to go a few laps round a field before being scrapped. But for a car that sees daily use. Dont bother
