Warranty Direct Warranty - Worth it?

Hi All,

Do you think its worth paying £350 for a warranty direct "luxury care" warranty on my 4 yr old 55 plate Leon TDI Sport 2.0?

Been offered 15 months cover over 10 monthly payments interest free.

Haven't a clue whether warranties such as this are a good idea. Online seems to be either they are terrible, or they are great... no-where inbetween!

Have been doing that today... and yes, it does indeed not cover "maintenance" items which are likely to go wrong.

So I suppose I'm just insuiring against the risk of something major going wrong which I could not afford to fix. E.g. the cambelt snaps despite being replaced on schedule...

I'm trying to weigh up the likelyhood they would pay out properly on one of these items,a gainst the risk of something major going wrong, and whether I could pay...

Another way of looking at it. What would you do if your turbo went?

Its going to cost £700 - £800 then labour on top to get it fitted.

At the last place I worked at the turbo went on a 2 year old Nissan Almera and it was about £1200 to replace it. It was a company car and still under warranty.

Its probably only a small percentage of cars that do go wrong with major items.

In the past I've had an Impreza which I did 30,000 miles with no problems, a Golf GT TDI doing 40,000 miles again no problems and lastly a BMW 330d doing 30,000 miles with no major problems, just a water pump which was less than £200 to replace.

A will certainly be extending my warranty when it comes up on my Cupra next March. I think I'm just worry about the worst happening now that I've been a home owner for 5 years
