Wasn't that or is it still Richard Alexandra's. My mate speaks highly of them. I haven't been though personally.

What about trying AET turbo's in Normanton Rob

http://www.aet-turbos.co.uk/

They maybe able to help you

P.S. My dad used to work for them, all be it along time ago though.

just spoke to backdraft and there very dubious its the turbo could well be the cam follower thing or a boost leak blocking the oil to the turbo or something. They did say if the dealer hasnt got the turbo off theres know way of knowing if it is the turbo so think the cars gonna be heading to awesome gti.

just out of interest how would you get a broken car 1 hour down the motorway, will the AA re tow it there, im kinda lost this has never happened before .

sorry to hear about the agro ur having with ur car! my mate has a tdi golf and his turbo split in half...

problem was bits of turbo went in the intercooler and engine so he needed a new engine and ic aswell!!!

but he got it all done for £1600 .... i think 1150 is way to much for 1 turbo...

It is possible to hire trailers mate to be able to tow it to Awesome, but obviously you need something to tow it with.

As far as I know Awesome don't have the means of transportation either.

Have you tried googling car transportation to see what come's up and possible prices etc

tbh no one knows whats wrong with it yet, dealer say turbo, Backdraft doubt that very much and say you carnt tell until they take the turbo off and i dont think they have.

Backdraft mentioned a few things one possible is the cam follower going carnt remember the other.

just want to get it to awesome gti now, might get some more goodies while its there .

ask the bods at awesome how much they would charge to recover it to their place from the dealers.
they might have an outfit they use regularly and get special rates which they might pass on to you if theyre getting the repair work.

Ok so update on this, the dealer wants £1600 in total to replace the turbo and get the car back on the road, theirs no chance of warrenty which i suspected.

Thought it would be worse tbh but he did say the turbo would cost £1115 inc vat on its own but surely i can get one cheaper than that if anyones got a link.

Oh and thanks for everyones advice on the matter ;).

Think i might get the s3 ic fitted while im at it, might save my new turbo from detonation .

Any idea what made the old one blow?

Could your old one not be hybridized?

Also looked in the revo thread and there were some posts from you a month or two back were you were concerned about your turbo?

I dont know if the turbo has in fact blown just yet the dealer says it has, the AA man says it has, but speaking tonight to some of the tuners, they say they'd be very suprised if it was the turbo, as its not as simple as the dealer are making out.

Backdraft say out of all the cars dealers have sent to them with suspected turbo problems none have in fact had turbo problems some have had the cam follower problem and others have had boost problems which have stopped oil getting to the turbo or something like that.

Yeah that was after the motorscope rr day where there was smoke coming out the back of the exhaust but i think this came down to it running rich and burning off unburnt fuel.

could well be the cam follower problem but next job i think is getting the car to Awesome gti so they can have a look.

good god what a nightmare lol.

Well fingers crossed mate, Dealers often are so useless. If it isnt the turbo I think you should go back to the dealers and demand a explanation tbh. Cause you could have forked out all that money and chances being it isnt the turbo, would SEAT have made you aware of that fact or take the money regardless.

Cant see how they can give such a diagnosis without inspecting the car properly, obviously quick to rush the gun and say its modified, and condemn any warranty work.

Arent they legally meant to prove that the modification has caused the failure before they can just biff you off?

Threads like this always makes me thing about getting a evo for some reason

Im going to ask them tomorrow if they have taken the turbo off and inspected it, if they havnt then theres no way they can diagnose the problem, as i understand.

Tbh i think they would have put the turbo on, taken the money and played stupid.

Not so sure about the legality of the warrenty work with regards to the mods tbh.

I agree with the evo comment, tryed to get an insurance quote for one, they put the phone down when i told them i was 22 .

Well I only just about got insured on the k1, setting me back 2700, but have done some quotes on loads of different cars for when im 21 and for an evo fq 360 it was like 2400, and thats without going to the specialists.
