Hi,

I have a SEAT IBIZA TDI 80cv 2007. I'd like to know if you have installed a turbo timer in this car. Some peolple say it's not possible because this Ibiza is CAN BUS line.

some people say that you can install a turbo timer if your car is 2006 or before.

Thanks a lot.

That's what I mean, you have installed the turbo timer because yur car is K-line (before 2007). The problem is when the car is 2007 and 2008, because the protocol is Can Bus and the installation is impossible. as new versions appeared time ago in Ibizas, Leon and VW GOLF, I want to know if the instalation is now possible.

Thanks a lot for you reply

Why do you want a turbo timer? (I do know what they are and do by the way!) With some easy driving techniques you can look after your turbo just the same. Good luck if you go for it though!

simple really. just sit in the car at the end of your journey with the engine idling for a couple minutes before turning off

or drive like a granny for the last 5min of your journey.

Ahh right, seems simple enough haha:lol:

Would i still need to leave it tick over for a few minutes after a small trip, say 5 mile to the shop or something? Providing i dont drive it hard..

no need to let it idle if you're taking it easy.

dont the mk4 cupra have extra water pump that stays running after the engine is turned off?

i've heard something like that, maybe an oil pump to keep the oil circulating?

You will also look after your licence too.
Leaving a car running and walking away from it can get you a ticket.
Can't remember the exact offence but a mate got 3 points and £30 at the time for a turbo timer on his Escort RS turbo.
