Hi all
Maz (jonjay) has experienced the play and totally weird pulling in my steering, so im going for the last and finally thing to replace which is the passenger side trackrod. If this doesnt solve it i dont know what will.
Well let me explain again lol, basically when im driving, on cruise control, steeady driving, the steering wheel will be straight, or as near straight, but then when i put my foot down, it pulls mega to the left so i have to hold the steering wheel facing a 2oclock angle, then when i let off the accelerator, it pulls back to the left, so i then have to hold the steering wheel at a 10oclock/11oclock position to correct it. So ive had both all new wheel bearings, track rod ends, balljoints, uprated powerflex bushes etcetc and still it pulls weirdly. So today i was bored and decided to try and crack this weird problem, as frankly im getting very p1ssed off with it now and am tempted to trade it in for a new car. I jacked the car up and did a wheel bearing test on the passenger side wheel, held it a 12 and 6 oclock postions, tried to shake it and no movement, then i grabbed it at 3 and 9 oclock positions and shaked it side to side. There was a tiny bit of play. So i grabbed my trackrod shock it. Theres a bit of play in and out, and my drivers side has none. So could a worn inner knuckle trackrod joint cause this weird play??

What about the rack itself being slack on its mount.

The track rod the other side is fine, and doesnt have any play, so can only put it down to this last couple of things which are causing it

Have you checked your wheel alignment?
If you have serious toe out problems then this will do this to the wheel on acceleration

Have you changed your track rod ends?
Was the alignment re done after that?
Toe out is caused or cured by adjusting the length of the track rod end

So after i fit my new track rod and get the tracking redone at a decent place with proper laser etc, will this cure my toe out if i have toe out that is??

Brad I'm going to replace my inner track rods soon there only £10 each

If you shake the wheel when its jacked up there is slight play in the rack?

If I do the wheel bearing check, hold at 12 and 6 position, no movement, but if I hold at the 3 and 9 positions, there is slight play, which to me is the inner knuckle joint which is the joint right near where it screws to the rack, I did this check to drivers side and no play, where did you get your track rod from, also part number if possible mate :)
