i was having a look at my mate audi s3 and its got puddle lights.. i was having a look at the bottom of my door and it looks like there is a blanking plate for it.. has anyone done this and where would i get it from??

any help thanks...

They are though. Some have the cut outs on the bottom of each door. It has a blanking plate and you remove the blanking plate and fit a light. The light unit is the same light unit used for the glovebox. It only costs a few quid to do. The part number is on that other thread.

I'm still going to do it but use some LED Strip tape instead of the bulb fitting. It would still work I believe.

Damn I forgot to check my doors today! I might take a feed off my courtesy lights to power the puddle lights :)

What are courtesy lights? Are they in the footwell? Cos I was thinking of doing that at the same time.

Red LED strip in the footwells and white for the puddle lights.

Courtesy lights illuminate the door handle recess. When you unlock the car they turn on...then fade off when the car is locked or the engine is started. Here's what mine look like

How hard where they to fit?
Are they aftermarket? Is it just 2 LED's there?
Also how much?
Sorry I like them and I would look into it.

It's all custom. Basically there is one LED recessed into the rear of each handle. Then a cable running from the interior light feeds them. Only cost me a few quid for the cable and LED's
