Rolled Arches

Had a search around and not much info regarding Leon's with rolled arch's.
Has anyone done it?
Is it hard to do?
I would be interested to see it, i know its big on the VW scene so they can get there cars super low.

I had a few of my old cars wheel arches roled but i think you find the leon can accomodate big wheels with a silly drop. Ive hada feel aroiund the arch and theres not much there to roll. How low are you thinking of going?

Low, i am already on coilovers with 19" BBS CH 014 with which are 8.5j x ET30 running 235/35/19 with a 3mm spacer on the front to clear the Brembo's.

I am getting rubbing on the front arch on bumpy roads.!

Hhmmmmm what tyres are you running? I dropped my coilovers to the bump stops for a laugh and didnt have any rubbing but then that was on 18's and i only kept it like that for a week

BF Goodrich G-Force profilers, 235/35/19, it thinks it down to the fact the alloys are 8.5 wide with and Et30 profile with 3mm spacers.

I had it slammed on my OEM LCR alloys, no rubbing at all.Its defo down to the ET and with of the alloys.

Just wondering is rolling the arch's an option, i only need a few MM's, the other option is to lose the Brembo's to get the wheel more into the arch.Final option is to sell them, but they cost me £1k for the alloys, £250 to paint them and the £700 for tyres, i am reluctant to go down this road just yet!

Is it hitting the actual arch or the plastic liner?

I think the problem is the 8.5 et30 with spacer bit

Its defo the width and ET, they just barely fit. I cannot see any damage to the paint on the inside of the arch, so it must only hit the plastic, i was actually thinking of cutting this but i was reluctant to do so.I wonder can i remove and reposition it?

Jack the car up and remove the wheel, look where its hitting and either cut a bit of the plastic away or heat it up and reshape it.

i'll have a look if it ever stops raining I wonder how the euro guys are doing it, often seen Mk4/5 Golf's slammed and only mm between the tyre and arch.

I used to be one of these 'euro boys' I used to remove splashshields and roll arches if needed.........don't assume they don't rub either

Would you say there is much to rolling the arch's on the Leon, it doesn't look like there is much of an arch to roll?

I am gonna sell these alloys on, but if do it now i will lose a boat load of money, i at least want to wear the tyres out and just sell the rims on , i would be lucky to get £700 in the current climate, even though they are mint.

Without looking at the fronts I'm not sure but definatly not on the rears, the rears could be flaired a bit but not really rolled as there is no lip to roll.

I'll have a look at front of mine tomorrow and see.......If your only hitting on plastic you have it easy tho, no risk of damaging paint like with rolling metal...... plastic is easy to work with

I'll jack her up tomorrow and have a proper look, i'll get some pics too.I wonder what the Leon would look like with some minor arch work done??

a 215 35 19 tire will let you have a lot of room and save major scobbing but mean you have no rim protector...

up here in the north of ireland that is wot most people with low/very low car have.

check out this site, most car with the tire in the arch on here will have 215 tires

Cheers Mate, so i could get a 215/35/19? with some nice tyre stretch going on there?
I would not like to go under 35 for sidewall height, the roads in the Rep.Ireland are extremely bad.

no probs.. 225s can be got aswel, but wil mean more rubbing on major decking..

Cool, so with a stretch i could gain a few mm on the tyre and get in under the Arch?
i must google this to dead now!
