Hi just after a bit of help or advice if possible, bought myself a ibiza gti 8v a few months ago and its been great up untill the past few weeks. When driving the car will jus cut out and then struggle to start for 10 mins or so, ive had it diagnosed at a garage which brought up that i needed a throttle position sensor ive recently had it replaced and it still does it. The car doesnt missfire or anything and runs fine until it decide to cut out lol.

Anybody have any ideas of what it could be, thanks in advance

Its had new leads, dizzy etc not too long ago. Ive seen on a few threads the crank sensor being mentioned, where abouts is it located on the engine tho just to have a look maybe clean it if poss see if that helps, sorry for prob all the questions but not very mechanically minded only know the basics lol. Tried searching for an engine diagram etc but had no luck

Sounds like it could be either your coil is on the way out or your crank sensor. The coil is an easy fix, its the black box thing attached to your bulkhead just below your passenger wiper, about £40 and 5 minutes to change. The crank sensor is a pain to do, a new one cost me £35 (on an ABF) and an afternoon and 2 pairs of hands to change. My mate got his done on his Golf GTI at a garage for about £150. Hope you get sorted mate.

Sounds like the same symptoms i had with mine - turned out to be the coil

thanks for the help guys, ill get the coil ordered and see if that solves it, will keep you posted :coolthumb

After having similar problem as you, I found it to be crank/engine speed sensor. Diagnostics claimed Throttle position Sensor but wasnt!
So I'd go with crank sensor on this one!
