Hey folks,

I have an 06 2.0L TDI Sport 140bhp and I am looking to take it up and over 200bhp now I know I will have to uprate the clutch and fly wheel but not sure if this is available for my model but what other mods would be required to achieve this, bigger injectors, turbo, custom re-map

Any help is welcomed?

Kind Regards

Darron

A hybrid turbo & custom remap would see approx 220bhp.
JBS offer a Stage 1 package http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/product/2331/stage-1-140pd
As for the clutch, have a look at Sachs or Helix uprated ones.

I had a Helix clutch & single mass flywheel fitted to my remapped Fabia vRS. It handled the 420Nm with no problems, but was a little noisey on idle, due to the single mass flywheel.

Much appreciated mate do you reckon I will need bigger injectors?

How did you find you Fabia after the work carried out?

Injectors would help with fuelling, but I'm not sure what the existing ones are rated at.

The Fabia was awesome!
The remap transformed the car, but too much abuse from my right foot killed the OE clutch within 6 months. The Helix clutch & flywheel was so much better. It transferred the torque instantaneously & pick up was so quick.

Do you reckon the standard clutch would take some abuse then even for 2 or 3 months?

The torque must have given you some jolts and whiplash  What was your figures on the fabia? What made you change?

The PD 140 clutches seem to be stronger than the PD 130 ones. My Leon is mapped to 175bhp / 395Nm & the OE clutch is fine even after 2 years.

I didn't get rid of the Fabia by choice. It had a rather messy coming together with a HGV on a motorway. The driver didn't see I was alongside him!![:@] It was a complete write off.

The Jabbasport remap took it 185bhp & 400Nm (could have had more out of it but the turbo wouldn't have lasted long!!).

clutch has lasted ok on mine so far, had it mapped for 15 months now. Apparently theyre easily ok for around the 300lbft mark. You should be able to get around the 190bhp - 200bhp with just a decent map / exhaust. Just a thought too, id consider uprating brakes too if your after power. Std brakes on the tdi fade so quickly

If I could achieve around 200bhp and what kind of torque do you get with a re-map? Dull one with the Fabia  :headhurt: main thing is you survived

Yeah the brakes aint the best are they :headhurt: will def be doing something with them would the FR breaks be a good upgrade or should I aim higher??

200bhp and 300-330lbft is achieveable, each car is slightly different. But you shouldnt be too far from that at worst.

The brakes issue is all down to a couple of things:
a. what you want from your car..are you gonna drive it hard, trackdays, etc? or just normal everyday driving?
b. how much cash you got

if you got a grand free, get yourself a set of front brembos or equivalent. Bear in mind the 340mm discs need 18" minimum wheels or if you got 17s a wheel spacer combo is needed.
Saying all that, the FR brakes are ok :)

it all comes down to how much you want to spend mate.. But one thing i will emphasise. If your gonna get a remap, please get it done from a reputable place / product. Just have a search on this forum to see how many time people have gone down the cheap route and have had trouble. Go for the tried and tested mate

one last thing (lol), once you got remapped, make sure you use decent diesel. Or diesel + millers combo.. That makes a difference too

Cheers Andy i will probably be using star performance just over the water in Kirkcaldy and they come with a good rep.

Well the money thing nothing a lil bit of saving wont hinder plus I need to do a few things to my Evo then that will be up for sale. If you know anyone with a Honda I have a set of brand new Lenso RS5's in silver with tyres never been on the road for £400 cost me £640 new!

Im not using it for track days just speed limit driving [B)] and the occasional quarter mile so brembo's are a bit full on. How do you get on with the MK5 GTI breaks easy to install?

I already use v-power diesel in mine dont mind paying for v-power in the diesel form at least you get miles for your money where as the Evo well lets just say I wish that ran on fresh air

you also need a bigger intercooler. your stock intercooler may not be enough.

Just to add I originally fitted shocks and springs cant mind the name and they were horrific banging at the rear and when you took a corner the rear felt like it wasnt connected to the car so Damian (dealer on here DPM performance) advised I went for weitec coilovers and waw what a difference cracking value for money fantastic ride but again the rear doesnt go as low as I would have liked still pretty low shame it wasnt a 75mm drop on the rear the front looks sweet and still got about another 10-15mm to drop if needed. All in all would highly recommend them and thanks again Damian for all your help

Would recommend him wwwdpmperformancecouk

also at least a performance filter panel (green cotton or K&N). As oer usual a full turbo back exhaust to allow the turbo to work it's wonders. Remember diesels don't need cat's to pass it's MOT.

So how do they still go through emissions tests? Exhaust is next on my list along with an air filter then a re-map then the BTCC body-kit and re-spray funnily enough the cheapest thing for me as I can do that myself :funk:

diesels go through a smoke test and not CO2. As long as your car doesn't give out too much soot it will pass fine. DPF delete FR170 is pretty much like a de-cat for diesels and they will pass a diesel MOT.

you also need a bigger intercooler. your stock intercooler may not be enough.

The stock intercooler is good enough for 300 bhp so its not really something that needs to be changed.
My car is producing 190 bhp/349 lbs/ft and the standard clutch is fine (I think they are rated to 350 lbs/ft but it all really depends on how you drive you car) but I already have an uprated filter, aftermarket exhaust on mines as well.
As for brakes the standard ones are prob worth changing if you are going for 200 bhp even with normal everyday driving.
Alex

aside from a Remap, filter and exhuast the next big gain is a Hybrid Turbo, The intercooler would be fine, the clutch would be too if you drive in a forgiving way for a while, giving you time to save for one (it will die eventually), better brakes would be a good idea also!
